Great battery life, about 12+ hours at moderate volume. tricky install but y-tube solved that.
The JBL speakers are awesome! So awesome that afer years of constant use our battery in our flip 4 was no longer holding a usable charge. After replacing with this battery, we get over 12 hours of use at moderate volume. I am very pleased with that. The battery did not come with any usable installation instructions although searching y-tube provided all the info I needed. It did come with a good screwdriver and pry tool which were the only tools needed.Something important to note when installing these, the original battery has a foamy-butyle like tape on it that makes it stick inside the speaker really well. The video I used showed applying a small ammount of isopropyl alcohol which greatly helped in releasing the battery. The other important thing to know is that there are a few generations of the flip 4, and some differences in how they secrue the battery. The video I chose showed removing the screw holding one of the control buttons in so that the sealed input ports could be moved slightly to provide access/clearance to push the battery out from it's back side using a blunt tool like a pencil with new eraser tip; rather than trying to pull the battery out by the wires. This tip was invaluable, becareful of the small white ribbon cable connecting the control button that is loosened so you don't accidentally damage it.Most videos I saw, they just pulled the battery out by the wires, I suggest finding a video where they push the battery out as I described; my battery was in there pretty snug.

I used a YouTube video to learn how to disassemble the speaker and installed the new battery
The toolkit supplied the nerd tools to disassemble the speaker I was replacing the old battery. My project only required were the small philips head screw driver and the plastic pry tool to remove the speakers protective screen cover. The pry tool's tip was to thin at the tip, so it bent and broke off. I used the small standard screw driver to pop the first few holding screen clips and then inserted the plastic pry tool to pop the remaining clips. Not relayed to the knew battery, was getting the old battery out. It's installed with thin foam rubber pads which prevent the battery from vibrating. Time and heat caused it to some what melt causing it to be very difficult to remove the old battery. Lithium batteries can short out and burst into very intense flames, so you should be very careful about simply prying it out with pliers or some other tools. I took mine outside just incase something went wrong. I was able to get my old battery out with some force but not crushing it.The new battery install took five minutes to aply the new foam. I rapped them in three places around the bottom, middle, and top trimming each for no overlap. I test top to bottom with a single strip and found it caused to much friction to push in to the enclosure. That's why I chose the method I used. One on on side would have potentially allow vibration to occur. It took about an our to complete the exchange of batteries with most of the hour attempting to remove the old battery carefully without causing a disaster. Had I not had that problem, it would have taken about 20 minutes to complete the task.Battery life seems to hold up to or exce my expectations. I use it to play music while working in my shop and some yard work projects. I have gone 2 plus hours an still have 3 out of 4 dots of power left. It does seem to have a longer life than the original installed battery. My speaker is a JBL Flip 4 and is powerful enough that I have yet to max out the volume, so this battery is take a good load but keeps on pumping out the music.

Very good battery last very long kit comes with almost everything you need.
This battery kit was pretty good and well priced. The metal spreader tool works great don't bother with the plastic one. Do not use the screwdrivers included; they're really bad and risk stripping the screws out.If you have a model where the serial number ends with GG, you will have a lot of work ahead of you. The battery swells and has sticky foam all over it. It will be very hard to remove from the top, so you will have to disassemble the bottom of the speaker to remove the USB port and push the battery out so you don't risk an explosion and fire. A little alcohol and WD-40 should make it easier. Do not pull on the cables. If you are not willing to take on this task, don't buy. If you don't have a GG model, the swap is a lot easier.Once you get the old battery out, make sure you use the included foam tape on the top and battery sides of the battery so it doesn't rattle. Do not add too much to the point where you can't push in the new one. Make sure to fully drain then fully charge so the battery can settle after that the speaker will read the charge correctly.

Battery works. Tools are so-so
Removing the cover is really difficult! The green tool that came with the battery didn't work. it snapped. I had to use the silver spatula thing to pry it open. The rubber casing was glued to the speaker with double sided tape. So, it wasn't easy to remove it like some videos either. The easiest thing to remove were the screws. Thank gawd the screwdriver that the kit provides fit well and didn't damage the screws. However, the worst part was removing the battery. I don't know if it was inflated over time or it was already like this in its original state. it was bulgy! Plus, the battery was wrapped with some foamy gripping material so it wouldn't move at all. The wires even came out from me trying to pull out the battery. So, I had to open the other end of the speaker and used a blunt tool to force it out with some pounding (i later realized it was a dangerous thing to do. yikes). there were times I wanted to give up removing the battery. It seemed impossible. The battery was uncharged. I had to charge it up in order to use it and so far it still holds the charge. Hopefully this will last more than a year.
