Browning Dog Protection Vest Dog Hunting Vest, Safety Orange, Medium

Bought for my GSP, fits her perfectly. Definitely protected her bottom during the hunting season, the neoprene has the scars to show it. Vest is still good but after a season and weekly washing the Velcro is toast. I wish they put a more durable Velcro on it, otherwise it’s a great vest for the price and our needs.

I don't normally write reviews but this item deserves it. It fit my 55 lb lab retriever perfectly. Protects her from briars etc very pleased. I ordered the medium but probably could have gone with a large, either way perfect.

Nice product. The orange color provides additional safety and visibility for my dog. The protective portion is sturdy and provides good protection to the chest. There is neoprene material at the joint area allowing for comfort while on the move and minimizes potential irritation. The straps are adjustable, but you may have some looseness spending on your dogs size. This is due to the Velcro fastening system. Instead of one solid length of Velcro that would give full adjustability, there are a series of Velcro squares. This leaves gaps in the Velcro and could cause an imperfect fit. Overall great product, and if it had full Velcro on the straps would have received 5 stars.

Out of the package this looked great. Fit my dog well. Day one - the Browning decal was gone. Iron ons don’t cut it in the brush. After 3 hunts the rear most Velcro no longer held. I put a plastic buckle to keep the vest on her. 3 more hunts and the middle Velcro was shot. Very disappointing quality from Browning. I expected more. I don’t recommend unless you hunt your dog in mowed grass fields.

I bought this 1 year and 2 days ago. I am an upland game bird hunter looking for a decent visibility vest as well as something to protect the dog, especially in more harsh conditions. I hunt the upper midwest and put anywhere between 30-40 days out in the field each fall. So lots of use.Dec. 2022 Purchase to January 3rd, 2022 end of season- The vest was great. Worked well and did a good job.Dec. 2023- The velcro is now not sticking. Yesterday the velcro wouldn't hold and she shed the vest off going through cattails/snow. I ended up retrieving it and carrying out after our walk.Thoughts? I think for the guy who averages a weekend here or there it might be fine. I see no need for this to be on a dog with a good coat (lab, retriever, setter, etc..) simply because most of the orange is underneath so if you are using it for visibility, there are probably better ones with more orange on the top of the dog. Using it in light grass and such, you will be probably be good as well. I think running a dog through thick cattails it just isn't going to hold up or that is what I am experiencing now.I will try to clean up the velcro this week and make sure no seeds or weeds are causing the issue and then will try it again this weekend. If I don't do a follow-up, then it just isn't working and I will probably need to find something else. If I get it figured out and it holds up, I will post an update.

This hunting dog 'skid plate' to protect the chest of a dog from burrs and thorns is a priority. This is well designed and constructed to provide that protection.

Helps to keep grass seeds and burrs off of the dog and is open enough that the dog won't overheat. And it's orange, so my dog is more visible to hunters.
