Incredible game!
An incredibly addicting exercise that paints the richest portrait of the Warring States we’ve ever seen. The combat is fluid and dynamic, the characters feel varied and unique, with each one tailored to a specific strength and playing style, and battles are quick and snappy, so those twenty minute playing sessions can easily morph into 6 hour monster gaming binges. It somehow makes FISHING enjoyable!!It’s definitely the best SW game available on the PS4. Better than SW4,4-II, and any of the Orochi games. It’s probably Koei’s best game for the PS4 generation in general. Be aware though, the game is strictly ONE PLAYER. There is no cooperative play of any kind, which can be a bit of a downer. In my opinion, this doesn’t detract from the experience, though.

Great addition to the series!
If you are a fan of the Koei from the past, you know exactly what to expect, and this one is sure to not disappoint much. All your old favorites are there and the graphics are crisp, the control fluid and accurate. The story line really sets this one apart from some of the past games, as it really is engaging and interesting (Don't skip the cutscenes and back story text!) One slight disappointment is the exclusion of the need to explore or level up most of the character roster. There are about 61 characters present, but this really only focuses on the Sanada clan and a couple ninjas, which I guess makes sense given the title's name, still I would have liked a few trophies that focused on the secondary characters more to add some desire to continue playing after the main story is finished. As it is, I've had the game about a week and have leveled up about 5 characters to 50+ and I have all but 3 of the trophies. Once I finish those up using my main characters this will more than likely get shelved forever. Don't mistake this as a deal breaker for playing through the game though. I've enjoyed every minute of this game and highly recommend it for what is there, I just wish there were more incentive to continue on now that I'm done with the main story.

I highly recommend this game
If you're a fan of the other games in the Samurai Warriors 4 series, I highly recommend this game! The story is very involved. I really felt like I understood the family's situation, and the reason for their ambitions. The introduction of Masayuki was a great addition the game. All of the Sanada members were enjoyable to play as. Overall, Spirit of Sanada is a great spin off, and I would love to see more like it in the future.

Not a fan
The game didn't work for me. I was really looking forward to it, but just could not get into it. I just finished Horizon: Zero Dawn, and have pre-ordered Middle-Earth: Shadow Of War. I thought this game would fill in the time between, but it's not going to. I will pass it to another family member to see if they like it better.

Awesome
Long time Dynasty Warriors fan but Haven't played the series in a while. About 5 hours invested so far. Great gameplay actually quite difficult at "hard" setting. Very in depth as far as historical accuracy. Premise of the game is a bit RPG-like in that you go back to gather materials and upgrade yourself between battles. This is absolutely necessary to actually get through the battles.Fun! Would recommend. Got it for $39.99 here on amazon preorder

Samurai Warriors with additions.
It's definitely trying to be different with the additions and all but it's still just Samurai Warriors. The graphics are almost the same as Samurai Warriors 4. Samurai Warriors could use a large overhaul, this isn't it. It's still a good game worth playing but just dated like Koei Tecmo's other games. (Mainly Dynasty Warriors and Warriors Orochi) Don't want to support them anymore though, they're milking all their franchises with DLC's and unfinished/underwhelming games. Got to know them with Warriors Orochi on the PS2 and was fond of them, now they make me sick.
