not cheap but worth the little extra... very clean ,
Far and above better than the other black rice I've tried: The minnesota rice imbued up the whole house with farm like barn scent, and even the Lumberg black had stronger smell, and this barely any smell. Nice long grains-longer than others in package, and all is clean. Comes out with pleasant smell good taste. With pre-wash very little tint in water is observed.Best quality on market i'd guess..

Good quality..but pricey
Used this product to make wild rice pheasant soup. I was pleased with the taste and texture of thr rice as were the guests of my soup creation. It is impossible to find quality wild rice anywhere local so I was pleased to get an organic, good quality product delivered to my door…..albeit pricey. Bottom line, quality begets a price. Would recommend.

Different than Great Lakes area Manoomin
This rice is tasty. So I'm not saying anything against it, and if flavor and freshness is what you care about, buy it. But ... if you're expecting something like Minnesota manoomin, this is different. Before I bought I asked if it was truly maoomin, not a hybrid or cultivar. The reply: "Yes, this is lake-harvested wild rice from Northern Saskatchewan. Without any conventional farming methods, it grows naturally. And you can tell by the fact that it is not uniform in a cylindrical shape like cultivated paddy rice is, and it is not uniform in colour as you would see in cultivated rice."In fact, it is pretty much uniform in shape and color...dark brown like the hybrid...instead of the mixed shades of tan and lighter brown found on each kernel of Minnesota roasted manoomin from White Earth or Nett Lake. And I can't taste the lake. Also, while Minnesota manoomin cooks up in 20-30 minutes, this takes close to an hour. That too is similar to the hybrid wild rice they sell in supermarkets.Maybe it just grows and/or is roasted differently in Saskatchewan than in Minnesota, but if you're expecting manoomin like that harvested on Ojibwe reservations, this isn't the same.

Arrives Quickly and Fresh
This wild rice is packaged in a heavy plastic resealable bag. I put that bag inside another Ziploc bag for extra protection. The rice is tasty and being able to order it online kept me from driving all over to locate some. The vendor had a high rating which is why I chose it.
