Will definitely be ordering again
Fatwood has been our goto fire starter for 20 plus years. Have tried several different brands, mostly shopping based on price. Tried Double Tree for the first time tonight. The pieces are a little thicker than most brands and they started much quicker than most too. Feeling like we’ll be able to use fewer pieces per fire, which should save us a significant amount of money, especially considering we typically go through 40 - 60 lbs per season here in New England. Love that they are a small business too!

Best of Product Line
I've been using fatwood for over 25 years to start fires both inside in fireplaces and for outdoor fires. The quality of this brand is well above the other brands I've tried. I'm on my 3rd 28lb box and have waited to write a review until I knew the brand was consistent.Items I look for in a good fatwood product: 1) consistent thickness - I've learned that you can start a fire with 1 stick of fatwood as long as it is about the thickness of your thumb. 90% of Double Tree's sticks meet this thickness with a few even thicker and a very few smaller; 2) Light easily - Perhaps most important is they have enough sap to light easily and Double Tree's sticks are consistently full of sap so they easily light over 1/2 the stick with one wooden match.I purchased other brands in the past that would not stay burning after a single match and i had to add multiple sticks of fatwood hoping to get one with enough sap to keep the others burning. Never, in (3) 28lb boxes, have I had that problem with Double Tree's fatwood.Side Note: Even Double tree tells you to use multiple sticks, but if you practice and learn how to build a fire with fatwood, it only takes one GOOD stick. If the fatwood starts burning to at least 1/2 it's length with one match and is about the thickness of your thumb and the wood is stacked correctly (tightly, but enough space to allow everything to breath) you can start a good fire with one match and one good stick of fatwood.I give Double Tree a Double Thumbs Up!!

Quick start for our indoor fireplace.
These light up immediately to start our fire. We add some balled up paper underneath 3-4 pieces of this fatwood to start an updraft to prevent smokiness. We put a few small pieces of fuel wood on top of that. The fatwood works wonderfully quickly. My husband had been frustrated with building a good fire in our new fireplace and he was extremely happy with this product.
