Zinc Oxide Sunscreen from Coconut Joe's | Natural & Organic Sunscreen Lotion, Mineral Sunscreen, SPF 15, Natural Sunscreen, Exotic Coconut, 8 ounce bottle

If I could drink this sunscreen I would because it smells so good... like a less heavy original Hawaiian Tropic (before they changed the scent around 2010). It’s not sticky, nor dries powdery like some mineral sunscreens. No heavy white cast either. I live in Chicago and sunburn isn’t a huge risk up here, but after buying this sunscreen a) it makes me feel like I’m on vacation in the tropics even if I’m on the L (bonus: smell your arm instead of train smells) and b) I will never be sunburned because I will wear it all the time. So glad I did some research and found this small business. (Note: I did live in South Florida for a significant portion of my life and am somewhat of a sunscreen connoisseur because my pale and sensitive-ish skin is very particular.)

Reapplied this twice and still got burned as if I hadn’t put anything on. Also it definitely leaves a white cast if you reapply, the first application disappears however. I found the bottle difficult to squeeze.

My husband wanted a zinc oxide sunscreen that was SPF 15, and this was the only one I could find. He normally doesn’t wear sunscreen, so he agreed on this trip to appease me. We both used this and severely burned ONLY on the parts the sunscreen was on. Parts that had zero sunscreen were just fine. So basically this product is either very defective, or just doesn’t work. We would’ve been better off with no sunscreen. And yes, reapplied liberally several times throughout the day.

Needed reef friendly sunscreen for a trip to Bonaire. Bought this after buying a different brand that advertised as reef friendly but contained octocrylene. Coconut Joes contains only non nano zinc oxide so is legal even in areas that restrict sunscreens. It has a pleasant odor, rubbed in easily, and most importantly prevented sunburn even when in saltwater.

I've used this product 4 times and have gotten burned twice. I have olive skin and dont burn easily. I typically apply spf 15 every couple of hour but after the first burn with this one I was applying every hr. I bought it because I'm pregnant and was looking for something natural, but this is definitely not the right product. The two times I didnt burn I was re applying every 30 minutes, I wouldn't put this on kids or really fair skin.

I've literally spent a small fortune trying countless "natural" sunscreens. This is hands down the best product I have ever used for the money. I love it so much, I just purchased 4 more bottles of sunscreen and one aftercare lotion directly through Coconut Joe's. It sounds like those whining about it's consistency, have never used many zinc based products. They are all thick, separate, and need a good shaking (like any sunscreen should be) before use. The smell is subtle but amazing. Can't recommend it enough.

I have worn this sunscreen twice now. The first time I didn’t enter a pool or sweat very much at all - however I also only applied 1x. I got very sunburnt and was out for 3 hours (so thought user error). The second time I did sweat and did go in the pool and I reapplied about 4 times also spending a good portion of the afternoon under an umbrella - still sunburnt!! It smells nice, it rubs in a little bit easier than other natural sun screens but overall I would not use again or recommend because it doesn’t work.

I love this brand! I bought the spf 15 for my legs to get some color after the winter and it worked perfectly. Easy to rub in, does not leave a white chalky look at all, smells fantastic and did the job. I was in the sun for about 90 mins and got just enough sun and did not burn. I already had another brand (Ultra MD) with a high spf 45 for my face but wanted to try something else that was a little more affordable. Love this!! I will definitely buy Coconut Joe's again!
