India Tree Candied Violets, .5 oz (Pack of 2)

I don't know what these would be like on cakes, as I bought them to try concocting home made Creme de Violette, a necessary but scarce (and very expensive) ingredient in old fashioned cocktails like The Aviation. Works like a charm, and turns my creations a very pretty blue-violet.

The main heading for this product clearly states (bold title at top of the product page): India Tree Candied Violets, .5 oz (Pack of 2) ...but what is actually being sold is a Pack of ONE...which is shown in the fine print for the item selection but this is at best confusing--and for shoppers just online for a quick desperate last minute purchase, its easy to just think YAY and click buy & check out without realizing only ONE packet is being purchased, especially when the confirmed order page also states "India Tree Candied Violets, .5 oz (Pack of 2)". This seller is clearly misleading potential buyers and this heading of TWO packets needs to changed.The actual product, the candied violets, are ok...these are not high quality, carefully placed & delicately candied violets, rather they are heavily sugared so the petals are clump together on most of the flowers...there are 10 pieces in the single packet I received and only 1 actually resembles an actual flower...but...even the lumpy petals are still somehow magical in their purple sugary glory so they'll work for decorating my Easter tarts.

Purchased as a cake decoration, this tiny package of dried flowers were scrunched and rough-looking, and left a bad aftertaste. I would not recommend. They did however seem to be well packaged and arrived on time.

Bought this to mix with tea! They do well and add a nice flavor with a subtle sweetness. Outside of tea they are good to eat and decorate cakes with. Would have given 5 stars but these were much harder than others I have had. Very good though!!

An old-school treat. Fragrant and delicious.

These are really expensive but I wanted to make some exotic cookies so I splurged. They taste great and smell wonderful

If you're expecting these to look like small violet flowers, you'll be disappointed. These came as small purple sugared lumps.
