Great performance/fit. Look Okay
These are every bit as comfortable a my original Mesa Trail shoes, just tossed when I got the Mesa Trail II. They are probably better design on the side straps (adjusting exterior straps), those being better covered, more integral with the shoe... but I liked the external straps and could see how they adjusted. The originals were just more sexy (looked much better). Better looking in design, and color. I really don't like the "forest green" which is more teal than forest... and I liked the brown sole much better than the new black. Disappointed in ad presentation vs reality... expectation vs reality. But I've got a few miles and a couple hours in these and they feel great!

Not without concerns
I like the shoes, they’re acceptably comfortable and stiff as most people say in reviews. I have to say though, this is advertised as a wide toe box shoe, but it feels like anything but. My toes definitely feel boxed in and constrained. I like them enough to keep them but will probably try something else when they wear out

A little extra foot protection compared to Prio
I have a pair of Prios that I've been very happy with but much of my walking is on gravel with loose stones from .5-2" in diameter as well as acorns, walnuts, and sticks. These can be a bit painful to step on so I was looking for something that would offer a little more protection and the Mesa Trail II's seem to be perfect. I can still feel everything I step on but the slightly stiffer sole spreads the load out a little more so it's not painful. The toe box doesn't feel quite as wide as the Prios but my feet are not very wide so it doesn't bother me at all.
