This device will save your life.
Please read attentively the user manual coming with this device. The blood pressure readings are extremely precise if you operate it properly.Do not believe many of the reviews (that made me doubt to buy this watch in the first place) claiming its imprecision. Those may arise from individuals that most likely are not familiar with the protocols that Omron provides.Trusting Amazon return policy , I took a chance in buying this product despite the multiple negative reviews. It seemed impossible to me that a device sold by Omron, cleared by the FDA , and having received the award of best technology in 2019, could be that defective. I was right, and that decision saved my life. It can save yourS. Just read in depth the product users manual and watch some videos to perfect it.

Terribly Inaccurate!
The main selling point of this product is the ability to easily take your blood pressure multiple times a day; and even at night when you sleep. It is not a smartwatch in the ordinary sense.I am a retired emergency room physician and have two other Omron products which have performed well over the years. Since Omron is a reputable manufacturer of medical products, I had great hopes for this blood pressure watch. In most ways, it performs as advertised, EXCEPT the blood pressure measurements are very inaccurate. Here are some test results I did on myself. Background - Watch was fully charged. It was set to use the right wrist and positioned on the wrist and tightened exactly as specified in the directions. The watch was carefully held at the level of the heart (this is especially important). To determine the actual blood pressure, I took two readings using a mercury manometer, arm cuff and a stethoscope to determine the actual blood pressure. This is generally considered the gold standard, short of using an invasive arterial line. The pulse was determined by simply taking my pulse, which is easy as a physician with many years of experience.Using this method, the true blood pressure and pulse was consistently: BP 122/60, P 56.Now using the watch as described above, several consecutive readings were taken:BP 103/51 P 56BP 89/51 P 74BP109/50 P 58BP 92/45 P 54BP 109/48 P 54BP 88/45 P 45BP 99/52 P 53The numbers speak for themselves. In summary, I think this product is at best worthless and at worst dangerous. The fact that it has FDA approval, speaks poorly of both the FDA and Omron. Also, as a point of comparison, I have an old Omron Intellisense model HEM-711 that automatically measures blood pressure. It is remarkably accurate; rarely more that 1 or 2 mmHg off the actual value.

OMRON—HeartGuide Smart Watch. You’re on your own if the watch band breaks!
As far as the OMRON - HeartGuide Smart Watch Blood Pressure monitoring goes, it does what it’s intended. It’s pricy for its limited utility. What I find rather strange is that the company provides no help to replace the silicone strap/band if the holes for the buckle broke, as happened to mine, making trying to take the blood pressure useless—they expect you to purchase a new watch! At that price, one wonders how soon Apple may come up with its own FDA-approved product to best Omron’s, and have additional features and replacement watch straps to boot.

Hesitant about keeping or returning it
I recently bought an Omron Healthcare for my mom who is 79 with high blood pressure that needs to measure it multiple times in the day. I will be sending it to her to a different country. In the meantime I have been wearing it to test it. I am hesitant wether I should return it or not: Pros: reliable blood pressure measurement, beneficial for people who needs to measure heart rate constantly, it is a heart rate monitor in a watch. It inflates to make the measurement. Cons: Price too high, too bulky and somewhat uncomfortable. My hesitation is how long will my mom will want to wear it due to being so bulky and uncomfortable. Not sure if it is worth paying $500 for this. I disagree with the comments that this compares to a $50 usd heart rate monitor, because it does not. I have a Fitbit and they are meant for different things. My fitbit does not provide high and low blood pressure measurement. I would not be hesitant if this was smaller and less bulkier. It would also help if the price was lower. I think a fair price for this would be around $300 usd.7 months after purchasing this, the batteries are not charging and the pressure measurement is not working. Need help finding a solution. The device has been sent back to Omron for troubleshooting although two weeks in and still no response

Inaccurate
I took this to my doctors office and checked the accuracy. It recorder 10-10 mmhg low.. I debated whether to return it but decided that I could compare my bp relative to previous Omron and that would tell me if my bp had gone up.Also I couldn’t find out how to set the time. It’s not in the manual and their help desk has limited days and hours. I got transferred to a separate line that was to sell a necklace fall monitor useless help desk. This also does not show your pulse without taking your BP I might have waited too long, but I’m returning iit. follow-up I wasn’t able to return it. I’m disappointed that I was so gullible to fall for this scam device. I decided to buy an Apple Watch so that I can at least follow my heart rate. This company should be sued for telling people that it is accurate.when it reads 10- 15 points off all the time. I haven’t worn it for a month and might donate it to Goodwill. I would have been better off just giving $500 to a good bank. At least I’d feel good knowing that the money would help somebody other than Omron.

Very accurate
This device is large and heavier but very high quality. People compliment on the looks of it. I also showed it to my primary doctor. He was impressed because it's the same brand that they used to do blood pressures in the clinic

It’s just not accurate at all
The watch looks good, if a bit large. It’s rather comfortable given it’s size. It pairs well with the excellent app. It’s blood pressure readings, however, are not at all accurate compared to a regular OMRON cuff.
