Budget knife that looses sharpness quickly
Knife was fine the 1st couple of days but has now completely lost its sharpness within 2 weeks. Only used like 5 times. Had to buy a knife sharpener. We will see how that goes.Update 6/23/20After sharpening the knife is working fine for some time now

A Quality Knife To Enjoy Owning And Using
I tried out the VIPON high carbon stainless blade on a variety of meats, vegetables and fruits. It is super sharp and slices with very little downward pressure as it should. I was able to make super thin slices. I have not tried it for carving a turkey yet but expect its shape and blade flexibility would do the job. Still, I prefer a longer and smaller (top to edge) blade for carving birds. How long it will hold an edge before re-sharpening remains to be seen, but with regular touch up with a steel, I expect its high carbon content will make it easier to maintain an edge. Some blades on my knives are too hard and once they begin to dull, they take a lot of time to restore the edge. I'll update this review after my first time to touch up the blade. It is a very good looking knife. High polish finish. Beefy tang integrated in one piece with the blade. Great looking handle material. Super nice fit all around between blade and handle. The knife comes in a classy presentation box and has a tough plastic safety sheath with air circulation slots to prevent trapped moisture from causing discoloration. There was no country of origin on the blade so I do not know where it is made. There was a nice polished stainless steel end cap on the handle. Up-scales the look of my kitchen cutlery collection.

This is a very nice knife!
I have quite a collection of knives and this is not the nicest knife I own, but it is VERY CLOSE to the nicest one! It probably ranks at the second or third rank and out of the many knives I own, that is quite a compliment. There is a lot to like about this knife. It has a real wood handle and the metal is very nice. It is not typical knife material, it is much more of a chrome moly type metal. It is VERY SHARP, not the sharpest knife I own, but again, perhaps the second sharpest knife I own which is again, a huge compliment. It is very well balanced also. It feels very natural in your hand.I am impressed with this knife and the only things that I really don't like are the logo on the knife blade, and I also have trouble trying to get it to fit in my knife block, but it comes with a cover that protects you from the sharp edge.I would absolutely recommend this knife and buy it again - it is an excellent knife and deserves all five stars!

Practical and well made except for the finish on the handle
This knife comes in a truly fancy box; if you're looking for a gift packaged to impress, this will do nicely. More importantly, the knife itself is sharp and well-weighted, working equally well on meat and vegetables. So far the edge is holding well; it remains to be seen how it will handle being re-sharpened. It comes with a plastic blade guard to help keep it from dulling while clattering against the other clutter in my knife drawer. My one complaint is that the finish on the handle is uneven; most of the wood is polished to a fine gloss, but parts (where I think there was a knothole) are coarse to the touch. That may just be a manufacturing error in this particular knife and not a problem across the line, though.

chef's knife
Nicely made knife for the money. The sheath is a useful feature as well. Comes in a presentation box. I looked for burrs on the handle and didn't find anything bothersome. Because the handle scales are wood the metal parts may be proud or sunk in depending on humidity in the area as the wood parts expand or contract, so the transition from metal to wood is not seamless. The edge was sharp enough to shave hair from my arm. I don't expect spectacular edge retention at the price - in theory the "high carbon" content in the stainless will help with that but it's hard to say how hyperbolic such claims are with mass-market type knives.A good value in a knife of this type I think.
