You have to know how to use it…
After climbing endless stairs in Corniglia, we stopped at a tiny local Gelateria. They served Frozen Lemon Honey Yogurt. What they did was get Greek yogurt, drizzle honey on sides of a cup and squeeze half a local lemon. The flavor was out of this world. The key is this chestnut honey. When you mix it with lemon juice and yogurt, and it gives a flavor of burnt sugar and caramel with great depth of taste. This is the absolute best way to enjoy this honey that I found. It has a very strong flavor in the very strong taste.. It’s intense and unless you add it to Tuscan dishes it’s going to take some getting used to.The Cinque Terre Honey flavor was a tiny bit more intense I feel so this is a bit of a milder flavor but I’m super thrilled to have found the type of honey used in that amazing and very simple dessert. I can finish a quart of a yogurt container per day … but I try not to.

Tasty but pricy
Chestnut honey is among our favorites. I would not say there was anything particularly outstanding about this honey, but it is very good, however for that small amount it is quite expensive.

Acquired taste
Certainly an interesting experience. I thought I liked chestnut honey , period, based on trying this type of honey harvested in France. Italian is different enough. I am glad I had a chance to compare the same blossom origin (chestnut) from two different geographical locations (somewhere in France vs Tuscany, Italy). I personally preference French. Italian one is much sweeter but more bitter as well. Overall, my favorite single origin honey is still buckwheat blossom one (the most assertive and aromatic honey I have ever tried among many single origin sources). However, if you like honey, do give chestnut one a try (there is a green one too) because this type of honey is unique and distinct enough. A special remark about this seller: the jar was packed nicely, nothing leaked and the arrival was speedy.

Seal was broken when it arrived
The seal had been broken before it arrived. The packaging is beautiful and the honey looks delicious. I just don't feel safe eating something with the seal broken so I had to throw it away.

Not for me!
This chestnut honey, to me, tastes awful and the aftertaste lingers. Expensive for what it is, cannot recommend.

Perfect delivery and great product
Great packaging. No damage. Fresh as advertised. A bit pricey but it wasn’t cheap when I bought it in Italy. Bottom line, when ordering artisanal honey, Greek, Italian, Turkish products come as advertised. Every American honey had broken lids, poor packaging, and over-aged ingredients. There is a lesson in that.

So glad I found this!
I was intrigued by the description of this honey's flavor so decided to try it. I was NOT disappointed! It's unique, with just a touch of bitterness counter acting the sweetness. Very fast shipping and well packed and protected - very happy with the product and this seller!
