Large and will be good for a purpose
I have many fine high quality cannons. I fire them all for fun. Some are signal cannons. Some fire cannonballs. All require fuses, black powder, wadding. Some I have to patch the ball. This is my first Kennesaw cannon and my last. I find the barrel is too thin, most of it is plastid except the barrel which I do not trust. So in the interest of safety I'm designating this one as a firecracker only cannon. When I set this up with my other cannons it definitely looks cheaper than the rest which all have either stainless steel or brass barrels. And then we have this. It's a good cannon for somebody just getting started wanting to fire a cannon, but when you have other much finer quality cannons this one doesn't really inspire much trust. Where my other cannons have aluminum or oak carriages this one has a molded plastic carriage. I have to wonder how many shots it would take using black powder instead of firecrackers to destroy the cannon......Update....Just fired it. My load was 1 firecracker with fuse out the fuse hole, a scoop of black powder, and a second firecracker with fuse in black powder. The idea was to have the first firecracker ignite the black powder which lights the second firecracker fuse and kicks it out a ways from the cannon. It worked as planned. The second try ignited everything in the cannon kicking the cannon back about 6 feet with quite a loud bang. Will be fun on the 4th of July but I'm really not expecting it to last.

Cheap junk
I really didn't have that high of expectations but the pictures here at time of purchase do not represent the extreme low quality of this junk. It could be possible the other folks on here received something else- but more likely work for the company given the other items they have reviewed. If you want a loud retort from firecrackers- just get a metal coffee can it is much cheaper and nearly as good looking. The whole cannon fits in the palm of your hand- with plenty of room to spare. The plastic wheels are attached with bent cotter pins that nearly obscure them. About the only metal on the "gun" is the barrel itself and it is cheap cast and very thin. If you fire the thing certainly don't overdo it on your load and keep your distance - on par with stuffing explosives in a el'cheapo car antenna or ball point pen. For the size and quality of construction it would be much more appropriate for the little plastic nipple style caps. For the PRICE I paid thru amazon if all else was to remain the same I think most folks would have expected SEVERAL to arrive.I suppose it might be helpful to point out that while I am not currently employed as one, I AM a qualified gunsmith with at last 20 years experience building REAL firearms and not some teenager ordering junk knives and plastic crossbows with mommy's and daddy's funds. We have a pirate themed room in our house and this was also supposed to fill the nitknack roll for the room along with the REAL black powder pistols, cutlasses, sabers, treasure chests, ship rigging, etc. This product failed to meet minimum standards for even a nitnak.

Garrison Cannon
I bought this as a small gift for my father's 50th birthday. When he opened it we looked it over. The construction seems good and durable. Can't wait to stuff some powder in it and blow something up!

Awesomeness with a bang!!!
It's small but makes a huge bang and is tons of fun. I did the suggested load and a double load worked great and the anticipation of the fuse wow. I was worried about the frame being plastic but its a high quality polymer similar to a glock not a cheap toy. The value is amazing I'm going to buy more for friends and family!!!

This was definitely the hit of our 4th of July ...
This was definitely the hit of our 4th of July party! But Amazon recommends Bangsite. You CANNOT use Bangsite with this. You can only use black powder.

Kick A$# firing model
i have the field cannon. its great with the real black powder. And if you pack it down really good with some tissue paper it sounds like my Mosin M44. it will hold up to twice the recommended load (you didnt hear this from me). i have the same cannon for almost 4 years. just clean it like a regular gun and it will last as long as you need it to.
