Yummy Stuff Reusable Grocery Shopping Bag by Kerribag

I have several bags that I like to bring with me to shop...this one has become my favorite ! The quality is excellent...the size is generous, but not overwhelming....comfortable to carry...does exactly what it claims...stands firmly...the color is a bright, pleasant green...not loud ! I like the thought of " going green...and saving a tree...lol. Sturdy, well insulated and easy to keep clean with the swish of a wet cloth. I always put an ice pack in it because I carry food items that require protection from the heat...I highly recommend this Yummy Tote !

When the ban on plastic bags went into effect at our local grocery store, I bought and tried a number of "reusable" bag options. Based on all the very enthusiastic reviews here on Amazon, this is one of the bags I tried.It is a NICE product. Very sturdily made, and of obvious quality. The biggest pros for me are that it is easy to fill and does hold its shape in the car. And it's cute! :-)For my husband and me, though, this proved not to be a convenient bag. I imagine that how workable it is for you will depend much on your lifestyle, how you shop, how often you shop, and how many people you are buying for. I could not imagine needing to carry several of these into the store (flattened) to start my shopping trip, and getting them back to your car once filled will require that you use a shopping cart if you need more than two of these (because this bag is structured, not flexible, and cannot therefore just be gathered up by the handles to hang from the same hand the way the old plastic bags or various [much less expensive] nylon or mesh bags can).My general take on this bag is that if you shop for a large family (so that you always expect to be trundling a shopping cart of groceries back to your car) this may be an excellent bag for you. For a one- or two-person household, though, really think about how you like to shop at the grocery store. If you prefer to carry a basket around the store than to wheel a cart, this bag may not be the best choice, even though it is charming and nicely made. For one thing, the bag will not fit conveniently in the basket. (Of course, you could use it AS your basket, but it would not be as convenient as a regular shopping basket because you'd have to keep closing it to make the handles functional.) The bag holds a generous amount ... but remember, of course, that capacity is not the only issue. The more you put into a single bag, the heavier it becomes. We prefer to "spread around the weight" across multiple bags when we shop so that we can more easily divide the "carry-out / carry-in" load ... consequently, having bags that can be easily grabbed and carried together is important to us.Just to give you an idea ... we are a two-person family, and go to the store once or twice a week. We prefer to carry a basket around the store than to wheel a cart, but will choose a cart if we know we are going to be picking up cold or heavy items. Our grocery "load" is usually small enough (i.e., somewhere between 2 and 5 of the old grocery store plastic bags, plus a jug of milk or a bag of ice) that even if just one of us is shopping, we can gather up the bags and carry them to the car from the curb outside the store, and we prefer to do that to wheeling the cart out to the car and back.Please don't misunderstand me: This is a very well-made product that will serve certain shoppers extremely well. It just didn't work well for our shopping style. If your style sounds like ours, think about how you like to shop before investing in this bag. We tried many bags and ended up settling on a much less expensive flexible nylon bag of the same approximate dimensions and "shape-ability" as the old grocery store plastic bags, which for us has proven to be a more functional and satisfying option. Your mileage will, of course, vary. We ended up donating this lovely bag to Goodwill because after using it once, we just never reached for it again.

Overall, bag is good. There is no seal (zipper or Velcro) to close top so will not keep things cold for long. Handle is cheap and broke after second usage. Material is undamaged so can still use. Plenty of room on inside. Side panels slide down to maintain strong bottom shape and allow bag to "stand." Folds up easy and cleans up nicely.Update to review: I did not thoroughly read the product description when I placed the order. I thought I was purchasing a bag for cold items. After receiving the bag, it was obvious that it is for non-cold grocery items. After I submitted my review, I was contacted by the seller. They advised how I could repair the bag but also offered to replace the bag. I refused both due to the durability of the bag. The seller did not have to do this. I definitely will be purchasing the Kerribag blue "cold" bag at a later date. I originally rated the bag at 3 stars but would like to upgrade my rating to 4+ stars.

I have purchased 4 of these bags. I have been using mine for 6 months. It is the best bag for toting to the farmer's market or the grocery store. I get many compliments from checkout personnel that it is the best bag they have seen. It can handle quite a lot. I put in in the grocery cart and then use it instead of my canvas bags. It is far sturdier. The flat bottom is great for packing and carrying your purchases, whether produce or can goods. I use it to carry everything. A friend of mine was green with envy when she saw my bag, so I purchased one for her on her birthday. Now, I recently purchased two more as birthday gifts for friends. You will love this bag.

After a little use, the wooden dowel in the handles broke. I can replace it and probably will as the construction of the bag is quite good.
