Product description CERATI GUSTAVO AHI VAMOS .com Gustavo Cerati trades in his electronic urges for rock reverb and jangly guitar riffs on Ahi Vamos, his first proper solo studio effort since 2002's Siempre es Hoy. In actuality, the new disc is closer in sound to some of Cerati's work as frontman for Argentine rock band Soda Stereo, which flourished throughout the 1980s. Cerati was also surely influenced by his acclaimed work with Shakira, Los Caifanes, and Babasonicos. Whatever the reason, it's allowed the prolific performer to remain a relevant force in the rock en espanol world without relying on an easy regurgitation of hits. Ahi Vamos swoops and swirls through an urgent array of styles, from arena-rock fist pumpers ("Uno Entre 1000") to '80s-inspired retro grooves ("Caravana") and moments of sparkling commercial immediacy ("Adios," "Otra Piel"). Through it all, Cerati's way with a guitar remains a wily, wondrous highlight. --Joey Guerra

Musical Genius
Been listening to a lot of music from the late Gustavo Cerati. The stuff is so good! Former front man from Argentine rock band SodaStero branched off on his own and did a lot of really cool music.

Ahi Vamos, Ahi fue! Excellent new album is less pop more rock.
Gustavo Cerati is a remarkable pop-rock artist and this album is thoroughly enjoyable proof of the quality of his work. Like other reviewers have mentioned, Ahi Vamos is more reminiscent of Cerati's output in the Soda Stereo Dynamo and Sueño Stereo eras than of his previous solo efforts (which were riskier and at times groundbreaking). No electronic experiments, polite/atmospheric musical fabrics or self-indulgent/eccentric creatures here! The current offering is a lot more straight-forward (both musically and lyrically) with upbeat tempos, a consistent feel and a plethora of guitar riffs and melodic hooks. There is not a weak song to be heard. Favorites at the moment: La excepción, Al fin sucede, Otra Piel, Medium and Jugo de luna. In my opinion, the album is brilliantly produced as well. Highly recommended! As far as apparent influences, there's an ever-present raw/retro guitar riff in Uno Entre 1000 that sounds Hendrix-like, the song Caravana reminds me quite a bit of The Police, Lago en el cielo and Dios nos libre could have been in any Soda Stereo album (then again Soda Stereo is/was Cerati!), the guitar work in Medium sounds U2-inspired.The material of Ahi Vamos is perfectly suited to live presentation as I was lucky to witness firsthand in Puerto Rico on August 3, 2006. This tour should be captured in DVD! The only songs of the album that don't come across as convincingly live are Otra Piel and Crimen; they make for beautiful and contrasting studio work though.

Caro, pero bueno
Salió algo caro, pero para alguien que es fan lo vale, la música muy buena y sonido excelente en un componente AIWA de los 80s
