Q: can these be thinned? with what thinner?

With our Direct Colors Concrete Acid Stain you may thin them out with water (be it tap or purified) up to Four parts water, generally after four parts water you lose all reactivity with concrete and it will not color. However keep in mind when you dilute our Concrete Acid Stain you will get a lighter more "transparent" color and our color charts do not reflect thinned colors and there is no real way to tell exactly what color you will achieve.

Q: Can I leave the stain on longer than the 4-6 hours?

You certainly can leave the Acid Stain on longer than the 4-6 hours; however, keep in mind that we are working with a chemical reaction and the longer you let it react the more varied the outcome will be. I.e. Malayan Buff has been known to go towards an Orange/Rust color the longer it is left to react. So if you are planning on going past the 4-6 hours it would be best to check up on your color development every 1-2 hours by spraying the surface with Water, that allows us to mimic the "Wet Look" effect of a Sealer and show the color development up to that point in time allowing you to Neutralize right away or let it keep reacting a little longer.

Q: Would this be a good option to repair my chipped and scratched cola stained concrete floor? Then apply a seal on top?

As long as you clean out the chips and cracks before applying and there is absolutely no sealer down currently where you can see the water absorb into the spots to be re-treated then yes this will work as long as you wait the 6-8 hour reaction time, neutralize it, and clean up the spots then apply your sealer everywhere.
