Cute - I hope it's not poisonous!
This is a cute tin that looks exactly like it does in the pictures, except you can't tell exactly how flat the characters and props are. They're basically 2-dimensional cutouts. I guess the point of the whole thing is to set up a little display scene. I'm not sure about how safe the fake snow is, and I'm definitely not sure what makes it "re-usable". I added water and it fluffed up, and three months later it hasn't returned to it's pre-fluffed state. I guess they mean it's "continuously usable", in that I can keep using it until it's all blown away or poisoned us all and we're dead. In other words, your kids will love it and it will be a staple of your holiday decorations for years to come.

Cute Christmas Activity
What you see is what you get. It's a nice tin (with a plastic liner to protect the tin), a small packet of instant snow and 18 flat plastic characters, which kind of remind me of puffy stickers (although they are slightly more rigid and have the image on both sides). Depending on how much time the kids spend playing with it and how rough they are, I would imagine you could use this for several years to come. I believe you can buy instant snow here on Amazon to replace the snow that comes with it.My daughters (3 & 6) played with the tin immediately after watching the movie and they had fun discovering which characters made it and which did not (sadly, Charlie in the Box did not). I had fun listening to them re-enact the plot and talk about the overall themes (bullying is hurtful, running away from your problems never works, etc.) . The snow expands when you add water and is really fluffy, which fascinated them and opened the door for a discussion about absorption. It was a fun (and somewhat educational) activity that kept them amused for the short time they played with it. The only problem was that they spent only 3/4 of an hour playing with it and then it just became a cute display.

Concerned about safety for kids
Did not use- there is a warning in the packaging about not touching eyes/mouth after handling the "snow" so did not feel it would be safe for young kids. Disappointing! Would have thought this would have been made with young kids in mind.

Fun!
Fun! That tiny packet creates an entire container of "snow." Love it!
