Very simple and effective
This is about as simple as it gets. You just run a cable from the board to the Behringer, and there you go; no fuss no muss, no bother with trying to get the right channel or bleed over interference from other electronic devices. It’s also inexpensive and tough. Just remember to unhook yourself before leaving the stage, otherwise you’ll be like a dog coming to the end of his leash; not that I’ve ever done that. Ha.

highly recommend this simple personal monitor
It really doesn't get much more simple than this for personal monitoring. TRS/XLR input from the bottom, power/volume knob the top. Inside, is the hidden stereo/mono switch (which needs to align to the source, not your wishes) and spots for 2 AAA batteries. Send in a line-level signal that used to go to your powered monitors (or monitor bi-amp) and you're golden.I have only used mine for practice, but the sound is good, and the cable was not nearly as limiting as I thought it would be. If you already have a cable running from your instrument to a pedalboard or and amp, you're already leashed. I just ran my monitoring cable alongside the instrument cable, and attached the belt clip to my guitar strap. I imagine, when I take it live, I'll Velcro-strip the cables together, but whatev. For the price, it is kinda crazy to not do this versus continuing to suffer with stage wedges - and the stage noise and sound hot spots they create. Not to mention all the extra gear you don't need to haul around anymore.Behringer is a known brand, and since the mergers with other companies (like Midas pre-amps), I think their product offerings are significantly better than they were 20 years ago. These are so inexpensive, I bought extras so when we have a guest performer, s/he can simply patch in. Would and will buy again.

Good product
The product has a combined XLR-1/4 jack input. When using the jack option, it's important to know that it's stereo. If you connect a 1/4 mono cable, you'll only hear in one ear.I thought the product was defective, but it wasn't.

Such a valuable piece of gear to have! TONS of Bang-for-the-Buck!
I have used these in place of more expensive wireless solutions for the last several years week in and week out for our church gatherings. I truly cannot say enough good things about it. I purchased these as we simply could not afford the MASSIVE expense of wireless IEM systems. To be honest, the sound quality of these devices, being hardwired, is actually LIGHTYEARS better than any wireless IEM set i've ever used. These are great. Batteries last us several months using these each week for several hours, PLENTY of headroom for all applications (drummers included). Love the ability to go mono or stereo with the internal dip switch. These really have it all... I will say this if i could've given 4.5 stars, I might've, but ONLY for the fact the the TRS input (which is what I use for Stereo IEM's into this device) doesn't have any kind of a locking mechanism to keep it plugged in. If that were in place, this would literally be the perfect little device for a non-wireless live IEM application on a budget. That said, I have also NEVER had a TRS cable come out of the plug for myself or others on my team, so... I figured given that, it gets rounded up to 5 starts, because i absolutely love these things. HIGHLY recommend these. Just remind your people they are plugged in and to take these off of their belts before exiting ;-)

Perfect product at a perfect price, especially for the skeptical.
I play drums for a few local groups and one touring show. It was on the road with the touring show that I was introduced to the Behringer P1. The soundman for the show carries a dozen of them and offered the use of one with a set of earbuds as an alternative to a floor monitor. I was skeptical at first, but very quickly learned to appreciate the benefits of having the sound delivered directly to my ears. It cuts down on the overall stage volume of the band, making the soundman's job a little easier, and with my own personal mix including my kit, it enables me to relax and not overplay volume-wise, which in turn allows me to use more finesse. When I started using the P1 and earbuds with my local groups in which I sing harmony as well as play, the resulting change was phenomenal. What had been true for my drumming was doubly so for singing. Intonation and balance are so much more easily achieved. So far I have gotten three bandmates to switch, saving us tons of floor space in crowded clubs, and cutting back significantly on the stage volume. I know you can spend as much as you want for in-ear monitor ability, but it would have to be a huge difference in sound quality to convince me to switch!

Decent inexpensive wired IEM system
It's a simple unit with a simple purpose. I bought this so my driver can have a wired IEM system and not have to worry about dropouts. It may not be the best built system, but it does the job just fine.
