Cute, and that's all.
OK, I read several questionable reviews on these little cuties, and cuteness over function won me over. They are simply adorable and so cute I couldn't send them back. If you are seeking an itty bitty lamp that does not turn on when you flip the light switch as you enter the room, then this is the lamp for you. If you like walking across a dark room hoping to find the itty bitty thing to touch it so that it turns on, then this is the lamp for you. Once you find it and touch it to turn it on, the light is so dim you can't even notice a light is on. After the light was on for about 45 minutes it went out. I thought it was a bad bulb (bulb was included), so I went out to buy a replacement bulb. $9.99 at Lowes for 2 bulbs. OK, eat the $9.99 because the lamps are so adorable and I just want to show them off. I put one of the new $5.00 bulbs in the lamp, and it doesn't work. Determined to figure out what is wrong, I remove the felt on the bottom of the lamp looking for the loose wire that needs attached. To my surprise, no loose wire. I screw in the other new bulb (the Lowes pack came with 2) and I see the light flicker. AHAHHH! It is a bad socket, how do I fix that? I am an electricians daughter, and dad always fixed loose connections with aluminum foil, so what do you think I should do? Send them back and pay 10 more dollars for return shipping or do what dad would do... repair the connection with aluminum foil!!..yeah, in the 60's that worked. After nearly electrocuting myself and blowing up the lamp, believe it or not, I fixed it. I am only thankful that my dad my husband and 7 year old didn't see the explosion (not really, just a puff of excitement). I removed the aluminum foil after the sparks flew, and in the end, the touch part doesn't work at all, yeahhh for me! I don't have to walk across a dark room looking for this cute adorable lamp to turn it on, it comes on at the light switch now! The other lamp works fine and only comes on by touching it.I am rating this purchase low because it simply does not function well and is not that bright. Replacement bulbs are expensive too. The shades that came with it were balanced fine and didn't lean one way or the other. The lighting is soft and romantic, so don't buy these for reading or adding light to a room, they are decorative at best. Please do not attempt to repair or change the touch lamp feature with aluminum foil, that was really stupid and I am amazed the lamp didn't go up in smoke, or worse. Thank goodness I can write this review. Hey, I just realized, the lamps came with the bulbs that cost roughly $5.00 each at Lowes, figure $10 for two bulbs and $10 more for two lamps, you can justify the investment of $20 for two lamps, bulbs included. I will add one more point for value.

Nothing Fancy, but Just What I Wanted
This is admittedly not the highest order of craftsmanship, but I just wanted a cheap, small lamp that would not keep my spouse awake while I read. I got what I wanted. Yes, it is a trifle cheesy; the slightest touch of the lampshade will leave it sitting at a tilt. But on the other hand, it was really, really inexpensive, and it isn't all that reasonable to expect superior workmanship for this price. My advice to you is this. If you pride yourself on home decorating and/or have large numbers of individuals who will see your bedroom (to throw coats on the beds for dinner parties, to use your bathroom, or whatever), maybe you should invest in something more substantial. For myself, I am happy. I am retired and don't want to spend big. We are not fussy decorators, and nobody bothers the lampshade. The touch feature does have an advantage I had not gone looking for, in that one touch produces a nightlight; a second touch a very dim light; and a third gives you all the watts. Also, the touch feature means I can turn it on and off without having to touch (and adjust) the lamp shade.A bargain. My past experience with touch lamps is that the feature wears off pretty quickly, but my spouse is electrically handy, and when the touch feature dies (assuming it does), he will go in and install a manual switch, and then I will probably just have one light strength I can use, but even if this happens--which it hasn't yet, I am just anticipating--I will figure I got my money's worth. That, and the fact that my nightstand is very small and it doesn't hog a lot of the space there, and the added fact that the smooth features are easy to keep dust-free, make this a good purchase in my book.

It's better than I expected!
My former desk lamp was medium size, but after ten years there was a short circuit somewhere in it.I couldn't turn it on or off, my attendants would reach under the lampshade and do it for me.It was time to get a new lamp,so I looked on Amazon for an affordable little desk lamp.I had not noticed the word "touch" in the description. I had noticed that Amaazon offered light bulbs,so I bought those also. It's a good thing I did, because the lamp comes WITHOUT BULBS.BUT it's better than I had expected because after you plug it in, you can just touch the base of the lamp, and it comes on! It is perfect, for small cozy get togethers where not much light is required,For example, a small apartment,or basement, or the cliche" small booth in the the back" to be romantic. The light causes not glare on the television, that might interfere with watching sports, and because it's activaticted bytouching the base, you don't have to remove the lapmshade unless you choose to do it.That's my favorite part. I can turn the lamp on and off without asking my attendants! It's sounds silly, but to me,with my physically of not being able to stand or walk, I thank Jesus for anything and everythingmy body can do, without asking for the help of other people, gives me a sense of accomplishment. So, if you're looking for a small table lamp, for small get togethers, or intimate situations, with 3 settings adjustable by touching the base. At an affordable price, that comes WITHOUT BULBS(The bulbs are also sold by Amazon and NOT expensive,) This may be the lamp for you as it for me.

If I hadn't read the reviews I probably would have been annoyed and sent them back
These lamps are petite. I had some reservations because of previous reviews, but based on the price of other touch lamps it was worth the risk. When I opened the box there was no paperwork/instructions in the box. Because I read the other reviews, I was ready with tiny based regular bulbs. As others mentioned the base was slightly crooked, I knew the coming in, so I just bent it to be upright. If I hadn't read the reviews I probably would have been annoyed and sent them back. It took me a while to figure out that there was a plastic nut to unscrew from the base to put over the lamp shade to keep it on. Until I did, I was also frustrated with the shade setting on top unsecured. But, in the end I figured out the nut. I use them on my nightstands in the bedroom. While they look petite, they do the job as far as lighting goes. The three brightnesses are perfect for reading or leaving on for a nightlight. One of them seems to be a bit sensitive. If we screw the bulb in tight it doesn't work. We have to unscrew a slight amount and it works perfectly. It hasn't gone on 'by itself' after a few weeks of use. It will turn on, however, if the end of the phone charger touches it. Overall, I'm satisfied and happy with the price.

Self starter!
I noticed other reviews stating these lamps will come on....on their own.We have noticed the same thing. My husband swore I was trying to gaslight him the first few weeks we had them on our night stands. He would turn his off and find it back on a few hours later. The one on my side of the bed does the same thing, now days we just write it off to the quirk of the lamps.Over the last couple of years we have purchased five sets of these lamps because they do make great lamps for night stands. They provide a low light that is bright enough to read by on the high setting, on the low setting the light is just enough to scoot around the bed without waking up a partner from a bright light or bumping into things.I do make a habit of unplugging them if we are going out of town. I don't think they are a fire hazard of any kind, but figure better safe then sorry since the do have a mind of their own on occasion. My son joked we may have a ghost...if we do it likes to travel cuz we have moved three times since the first purchase of the lamps and they have done the self start thing in every home we have relocated to! One set went to his new apartment and he has the same thing happen! I guess it is a quirk for the lamp!

Very nice. Little pricey, but now that I see how often I use them, worth it.
I've had these quite a while now. (Doing a slew of reviews today, since I gave a bad one but realize I should reward good products). I remember it took me a long long time to decide to buy them because of the price. The size seemed perfect to fit inside the end compartments of a headboard I bought (See Review). Well I finally gave in. Because of such hemming and hawing, I think this is one of the most satisfying purchases I've made on Amazon. They are perfect, I use them many times daily and nightly. Although they fit perfectly in the compartment I decided they actually look better perched on top at each end. They also provide more light that way (though I don't really use them for reading, but with the two and their 3 levels, I COULD use them with paper book). The bulbs seemed expensive (around $5?) in box stores, but I found them for $2 at dollar store, and they--lamps and bulbs--are doing great, lo these--however many--months since I bought them. The necks were slightly bent when they came, but straightened right up with 5-10 seconds of manipulation.Oh yes. The directions WERE USELESS. I remember a reviewer said she sent it back because of it being wobbly or something, but I studied it for a few seconds and saw quickly I had to unscrew--the harp, I think, can't remember now--and place/replace a plastic bracket . I can't exactly remember. Just look closely and you'll see.

Very nice. Good for children
This is a nice little lamp. The brushed nickel finish hides fingerprints. The touch feature saves you the trouble of fumbling for the switch. It's easy for small children to turn it on/off without risk of them touching the hot bulb. I do wish it had an off/on switch too because if the touch feature breaks, it will be useless. (That happened to another touch lamp I had).I bought it for my bedside table, but it's a little to dim for that. It would be hard to read by. I would suggest using it in a child's room or a hallway where you need a quick light. If you buy a 3-way dimming bulb it would be good for a night light, as well as a full light. My only complaint is that it needs a special type of bulb that is not included. That's my fault ... I should have read the specs more carefully. I did have A LOT of trouble finding the bulb. I went to Lowe's, Home Depot, hardware stores and even a lighting store. My daughter finally found ONE 2-pack of the 3-way dimming bulbs at a different Home Depot, hanging in the paint department, of all places. So if your going to order this lamp, I would also order the B10 (not B10.5) 40 watt candelabra small base bulbs from Amazon at the same time.

Great Little Lamps - Just a few tips tho.
I read several reviews that varied in star ratings. I decided to make the purchase. They are quite cute and work fine. Another reviewer had stated they purchased the 60W candelabra bulbs... so I did the same. MISTAKE!! The 60W bulbs I bought were obviously to big for the lamp and got hot immediately. I recommend 40W and smaller. I used frosted ones and they work fine.Be sure to buy the recommended 40W max bulbs. Thankfully we had some at home and they work perfect. The lamps have a 3 way touch setting and the lowest is perfect for a night light. The other two settings are quite appropriate for a bedside lamp in my opinion.Take note, these are tiny lamps being shorter than a roll of paper towel and about as big around as a regular roll (I made the comparison.)The reason I gave them 4 stars rather than 5 is because as other buyers stated, the shades were slightly bent and required a little elbow grease. (but remember these are a $15 dollar lamp!). Also, the felt on the bottom of one was mashed over slightly and I had to fix that.Overall I liked them. I had taken two photos to insert, but sadly.... only videos seem to be allowed.

Nice lamps, as advertised
Just as advertised. For some reason I wasn't able to get LED lights to work in them, but standard incandescents work fine. They respond quickly and well to me fumbling in the direction of the lamp on the nightstand and making contact at night. Keep in mind these are quite small, to fit a small nightstand. They're well built, but they're so small they're easy to knock about. My biggest complaint about touch lamps of this type is that the chip designers don't think about the user experience. You HAVE to cycle through all three light levels to turn these off. In general the lowest light level is perfectly adequate for getting up in the middle of the night without making it hard to go back to sleep again, and it should be possible to go from that back to "off" if you leave it at low for more than a few seconds. Unfortunately, you must go through medium and bright to get back to off. That's a small quibble, though. Most folks will find these work well for them. Bright is bright enough to fully illuminate a small bedroom, and medium is good for reading a bit before bedtime.

Right lights!
My 95-year old mother-in-law was sometimes struggling to turn on a florescent desk lamp by her bed at night. Most of the time she got up in the dark anyway because turning on a light would use up electricity. I had been searching for some touch lamp that would make it easier for her. These two little lamps were cheaper than the others but have been the perfect light for her to use at night. And, if for some reason one goes, there is a back-up. Other lamps were too big, or had shades that let too much light out for nighttime use. The only drawback is that the shades do not fit firmly on the base and will sometimes be askew. But aside from that, these are perfect. They would not do for reading at night, but for her needs they are the right lights. When she first saw them (after a stay in the hospital) she chuckled and said they were "cute." She still doesn't use them at night, because they use up electricity. But they're "cute." I would very much recommend them for use as a night light, not a reading lamp.I want to add to this review correcting the part about the shades. When I changed a light bulb, I discovered the top of the socket had a plastic flange which unscrewed to allow the shade to be tightened down. No more "askew" shades. I will also add, read the instructions. My mother-in-law, now 96, is using these little lights at night.

Touch Lamps
These lamps are wonderful!! They look great and they are the perfect size for my bedside table and the end table beside the glider I nurse my baby in. I needed a light I could turn on quickly when our new baby wakes up and one with different light levels so I can keep it dim when we are putting her to sleep and bright enough to see for diaper changes without disturbing my husband. The touch is very sensitive ...I don't have to tap it hard to turn it on and it does not turn on by itself like other touch lamps I have had. You do not need special 3-way bulbs for it as we thought we would...regular bulbs will work. I am using 25 watt candelabra bulbs and they are perfect. Wish I would have bought them sooner and we will be buying another set for a different room in the house. Keep in mind that they are small lamps, only 9 inches tall. This works great for me as I keep a lot of clutter on my bedside table and like having the extra space. I actually bought these because my old lamp was tall and would shine down into my baby's rocker beside the bed and she could look up directly at the bulbs. These touch lamps are short with no space between the base and shade so the light shines up toward the ceiling. Can't say enough good things!!

Great lamp but 2 key-to-knows, plus photo in place in a kitchen
This was a great lamp that finally met my needs for a good small lamp. There are 2 key things to know about it for it to work well.Key features:- small - can fit under cabinets and in small spots- solid look and feel and stable- 3 levels controlled by just touching the base- stylish - got the brushed nickle and it matches old stuff in our house well. There are two keys things to know:1. To put the shade on (see movie) your should first _remove_ the little black plastic retainer from the base, put the shade on, then re-attached the black plastic scren on retainer then insert the bulb. If you don't do this the shade will look extremely unstable and will wobble around2. The lamps is small and compact - compare here to a kettle. See photo

We love these lamps
We purchased this set of lamps for our bedside nightstands back in 2015 (two years ago as of the date of this review). We were looking for touch lamps in particular to prepare for the arrival of our baby, being that she was going to be sleeping in a pack n play next to our bed for the first couple of months, and we wanted something convenient and SILENT. These fit the bill. The touch is quite sensitive and I like that they have three brightness settings. The low is perfect for middle of the night diaper changes while the high is enough to light the whole room. You do have to scroll through all the settings to turn it off, but you can do it super fast. They're still going strong after two years, we haven't had any issues with them and haven't had to change bulbs out (we ordered the Westinghouse 4023 40-Watt, B 9-1/2 Decorative Ceiling Fan Bulb, Candelabra Base, Clear 2-Pack to go with them). It's also nice that they are sleek and stylish and go nicely with our decor, and don't take up too much room on our nightstands. I would recommend them.

Good deal for the money does not work with regular light bulbs and the bulbs that it requires are not included
Cool little lamps and I stress little and they're not more than a foot tall. That's probably describe somewhere in the description but they came off looking like they're a lot bigger than they are. They do not come with the lights bulbs Venom required to work them and they don't work with standard light bulbs you have to have those Candela light bulbs that look like a candle flame. Wasn't too psyched about that but when I finally ordered those also they work nice and I like the little touch required to light em up and the three different levels of light brightness is cool I'm not try to hook them up to Alexa yet not sure how that will work with the touch lamp lighting variations but I'm sure I'll figure it out not a bad deal for the money

Six Sigma, please!
I'd give 5 stars - easily - the lamps look great and the touch feature is excellent - - - - when they work. Like several other reviewers, my first order included a non-functioning lamp.Despite that, I'd give 4 stars if there was a reasonable return policy. Given the frequency of quality issues I expect an autogenerated shipping label at no cost to me, and a full refund upon receipt of merchandise. Nope, instead I gotta pay out of pocket to ship it back & then maybe. . . I'll get my money back (original cost only, no mention of refunding return shipping cost). I didn't bother. But the lamps are so nice, and the price so low, that I ordered another set hoping that the law of averages would work in my favor, and it did. Order #2 = 2 functioning lamps. So, instead of 4 lamps for $60 (about $15/lamp) I got 3 lamps (about $20/lamp). Not too bad; the sets are priced so low that it's still a pretty good deal and I'm not hollering too loudly. That being said: LISTEN UP, manufacturing dudes & dudettes: FIX YOUR QUALITY ASSURANCE! Bring in Six Sigma, reset your control limits, or something. You got a winner product here, just make sure they WORK!
