Hi-LiftORB Off Road Base

I am a farmer who uses pivot irrigation systems to water my crops. Occasionally a tire will go flat and I'll have to jack the pivot up and replace the tire. It's a challenge in a wet field because it's straight mud and the jack will sink indefinitely into the ground rather than lift the heavy pivot.I've used a board but the board will sometimes slip around and it makes for a sketchy situation.I love this base for use to support the jack while changing tires; it's solid, stable, and only sinks a little ways into the ground. It is also heavy duty material that I believe will last a very long time.

Perfect tool for digging, scrapping and supporting your High-lift jack in soft soil conditions. I have a front-heavy diesel truck that is often driven on deep sandy roads, in the middle of nowhere! Hope I never use it, but having it gives me peace of mind when boondocking far from civilization. I'll use it in combination with my American Gage Hi-Lift jack, and set of roll-up traction mats if ever needed. Be Prepared!

Anyone who's ever tried to pack off-road gear into a Wrangler knows that it's a bit of a Tetris game - for the size of the vehicle, there really isn't a lot of room to put things inside (a reverse Tardis, if you like). One of the requirements in most places - and a good idea anywhere - for beach driving is a solid base to put your jack on to spread the weight on the sand, lest your bottle jack buries itself along with the vehicle.This base not only stabilizes the foot of the Hi-Lift, but my surplus bottle jack base slips in perfectly, so no matter which jack I have to use for the situation at hand, I'm better protected than I would be with nothing - and this solid plastic base is going to be easier to take care of long term than the ratty piece of Baltic birch plywood I was using before. Highly recommended.

I look forward to using this. This thing is much larger than I imagined and is quite thick. Looks to be of quality and was easy to mount. Only getting 4 because it comes with no mounting hardware which is ridiculous. Had to go to the hardware store to find some.Which btw, best I found for anyone else having the same issue: 1 3/8 3.5” bolt, 1 3/8 washer and lock washer, then 1 3/8 wing nut. I topped mine off with a little bit of loctite and plan to leave it mounted to free up storage space and will just unscrew the nut if/necessary when the time comes.

This is for the off road base. It works well for OFF ROAD use. It clearly states this is an OFF ROAD base. This item is NOT intended to be used on concrete or similar type roads. This is a hard base, using high grade hard plastic. The intention and purpose of this base is NOT to keep ur jack from slipping, but to keep your jack from SINKING in mud, sand and other soft soils and snow. DO NOT use on ice or concrete etc.For ice I have used a piece of 1/2" plywood that is 1" larger then this base, put 1x1 screwed into plywood around it, and so the base doesn't slip out, then embedded a dozen nails through the plywood bottom so that they protrude on the oppose side about 1/8" inch.This is a great item if you find yourself going off road over mud, sand, soft soil or snow!I am glad that it doesn't come with a bolt and a wing but as several others wished it had. I wouldn't have used it and it would be a waste of our natural resources to provide me a piece of hardware I don't need.If you want to attach it to your jack, get a 5/8" 4.5" bolt and a wing nut. It's less than $2

This is a lot bigger in size than the picture shows . Very sturdy and heavy duty. Quality is always important to me.

I went riding the sand dunes of Little Sahara in my FJ. It was just about an hour into the trip when I was feeling more comfortable driving. I came up over the top of a dune and there was a drop off into really loose sand on the other side. The 5,000lbs plus vehicle dug itself in as far as it could. We dug it out a little but were still stuck. I remembered I had this "off-road base" and my Hi-Lift Jack. I was worried it would still sink in this really loose sand under the weight of the big FJ. However, it worked like a champ. It provides a nice solid and stable base for the Hi-Lift in any circumstance or condition.Very impressed. A must have addition to any off road recovery set up with a Hi-Lift Jack.
