Fellowes Jupiter 2 125 Laminator with 10 Pouches, 12.5 Inch (5734101), Black & Grey

What a cool machine! I bought this for a friend who is a teacher and she cannot depend on the office staff at her school to laminate projects for her. That fact is a whole other ball of crappy that has nothing to do with this machine.Originally she bought a Scotch Laminator for about $30 from Walmart, which works well, but ideally she wanted to use thicker laminating sheets and thicker paper card stock to extend the longevity of the items laminated. That Scotch machine works great! but, with the heavier paper and sheets it just doesnt quite make it. So, I bought this one for her. It is well made, heavy and appears to be a professional machine that I believe will give her years of service. She is super happy with it and has reported to me that it is super easy to operate, the sheets regardless of ml come out perfectly laminated. Thanks Fellows for producing a great machine, a teacher can rely upon to create projects, and educating tools for her second grade classroom.

I’ve only ever used huge industrial laminators at an office or the small Amazon basics laminator so this one seems awesome to me. It easily and wonderfully laminates 10 mil thickness laminate (with card stock inside). Even one pass through it looks great but I did two passes just for extra adhesion. It was super simple to set up; plug in, turn on, and use. It heats up quickly and beeps when ready. For cool lamination you just have to hold the buttons down correctly (instruction manual). You DO NOT need laminating carriers. I looked through the manual multiple times and it says a carrier is not needed. The carriers stated to only use with a laminator that requires one so I did not use them. The laminating pouches go through smoothly and cleanly. I have laminated multiple 10 mil pouches and all have come out great. I used them to make planner covers for durability and I am quite pleased.

For years, I owned a different brand laminator that worked really well. So when it died, I replaced it with a newer one of the same brand. BIG mistake! The quality wasn't there anymore - lots of problems with the adherence of the plastic to the paper, especially once the page was cut into smaller pieces.Back to the drawing board. Read a LOT of reviews.Finally decided to give the Fellowes Laminator Jupitor 2 125 a try.The machine is noticeably heavier than the ones I have owned before and it heats up very quickly.It detects the thickness automatically and adjusts the speed accordingly.It does an excellent job. It is fast. The adherence is flawless.The starting kit includes a "roll cleaner page" that you should feed through the machine before turning it off. It also includes about 10 x 3ml pouches.I am very happy with this product and hope it will serve me for many years.

This was a great little laminator.. Served me well for a few months..

It’s my fault. I never got around to testing it to making sure it worked. 3 years later. Finally plugged it in and of course it doesn’t power on. Tried differed outlets, power cords, etc. nothing. So if you buying anything open box. Test it out immediately

So far I have only tested it briefly, but it works well using different thicknesses of material. I normally use only the thickest (10 mil) so only the high end machines are useful to me. I previously had a GBC unit, but after only 6 months it does not turn on.... too bad because it worked perfectly until then. This time I took a chance and bought this Jupiter as a used item from the Amazon Warehouse at a reasonably low price, the packaging was listed as damaged and may have some dents and scratches, I was a bit nervous, especially because if I had to return it from my foreign location the return shipping would be more costly than the item is worth. When it arrived I was happy that the packaging was only torn a little on one corner, and everything inside was like new... very happy customer!

broke within six months

I had a purple cow little laminator from a retail store that has been fine but it is cheap and slow. I decided to spring for a nicer one. The only complaint I have is the sticker that they put on it that is near impossible to remove without leaving residue. The laminator warms up really fast, and laminates quickly. I was very impressed. We have a really expensive one at work and I think this seems to work faster, it shoots the lamination right through so I feel doing multiple things would be a breeze, we will see how it holds up.
