Lice Clinics of America OneCure Clinic-Proven Lice Treatment Kit (+3 Refill Tip Kits)

First, children at my kids' school trade lice like kids back in the day used to trade baseball cards. So, needless to say, I've had too much experience treating lice. I started with over-the-counter lice shampoos but quickly found that they didn't work. I defaulted to a good lice brush, conditioner, and hours each day treating my three kids.Until this time. I finally broke down and bought this gadget after trying to treat a kid for lice who had strep throat. She wasn't happy. I wasn't happy. And my back was killing me from leaning over the kids to do multiple treatments.First, the good: The product works as advertised. Approximately one hour for one treatment, and you're done (well, except for the laundry and vacuuming . . . ) And it gets rave reviews, as far as lice treatments go. No tears and no complaints.Why did I only give this three stars? Because you should be able to purchase the product and the replacement tips in stores. Here's my experience:Day 1: Lice! Ahh. Start combing kids' hair with lice comb. Laundry. Vacuum.Day 2: Research OneCure. Call each of the three Lice Treatment Centers of America to purchase this product in stores. Store 1: Has no idea what I'm talking about when I mention OneCure. Stores 2 & 3: Don't have the product. Break down and purchase the product online. Continue brushing kids' hair. Laundry. Vacuum.Day 3: Brush kids' hair - comes back clean. Do happy dance. Laundry. Vacuum.Day 4: Find out my son's friend has lice. Treat my entire family and give extra treatment to my son's friend. Good news: We still don't have lice. And more good news: neither does my son's friend.Bottom line: I'm excited about the results, but I'm not excited about the fact that -- to have it be a viable tool in your lice fighting arsenal -- you really need to purchase it in advance of a lice outbreak. It is a high price point to purchase "just in case" your kids get lice. And the same goes for the replacement tips: At $35 a pop, I will be forced to invest $105 just to have the lice treatment tips on hand for the next time. Realistically, there's enough of a chance that the kids will bring home lice that I'll call the company (you can't purchase the tips on Amazon - another bummer) and buy some spares. But I'd much prefer to wait, see if my kids actually get lice again, and then drive to a store and purchase only what I need.So, if your kids get lice frequently, this is worth the price. If it's a one-off thing, consider investing in a good comb (LiceMeister) and start brushing.

Like every parents worst nightmare, my daughter caught lice the first week she started elementary. She had just grown out her beautiful, thick hair and we started to panic, thinking we would have to cut most of her hair off to control the lice outbreak. It was bad.I tried many over the counter treatments but nothing was killing all the lice or getting rid of the nits. I stumbled upon the OneCure Lice treatment and after reading reviews , became hopeful. I ordered right away and with the speedy shipping was able to start treatment as soon as it came.I followed the directions thoroughly but it took me closer to the 2 hours to even being remotely finished, rather than the 1 hour advertised. The tip ran out before I had finished all my daughters hair, making it very frustrating. The parts to the machine felt flimsy. And upon researching, expensive to replace. You cannot buy the parts off Amazon, only through the main company. It is really pricey for a one time use and it didn’t get rid of all the nits. This device is not good for thick hair and my daughter still has lice. At this point I’m better off going to a professional lice removal facility. Beware, device not as easy to use and really expensive to replace!!!

My children had SUPER LICE, ONE CURE advertised to cure SUPER LICE in 1 treatment and it didn’t even touch the lice to I retreated them a day later due to seeing NEW NITS and it still didn’t help. I had to take them to the doctor for a prescription.

I'm not happy that there are sensors on the heads that make the device quit functioning after a certain time. I was unable to even finish one child's treatment with one plastuc head before it made it turn off. It does seem to work pretty well but for $150 I believe a consumer should be able to control what they buy.

Followed directions thoroughly (which take closer to two hours contrary to what the video states). Assumed it killed all the eggs, but low and behold a few weeks later she was infested again. certainly not worth the time or cost (every use is another $20+ since the heads can't be reused). i wish we could return, but hopefully this will prevent others from making the same mistake.

This product has been the best I’ve come accross so far for killing the lice, but it doesn’t kill the eggs. I also needed another bottle for second application. My daughter has really long thick hair. I’m so disappointed I haven’t got this thing under control!UpdateThe company contacted me and I went to their clinic. We are now 100% Lice free and nit free. They treated me with nothing but kindness and made the whole visit easy and painless! I hope this NEVER happens again, but if it does this will be the ONLY product/clinic I will use!! Thank you LCA!

This product should be in your home if you have a kiddo in school. I know the price seems shocking but trust me for piece of mind that you have done 1 treatment and done, it is worth it. If you have never had to treat for lice, you don't understand the true stress and this takes that off your shoulders! Get it!

This ended our lice nightmare! Our two girls have long, thick hair, so we panicked when we found that they had lice. This was so easy to use and the instructions were helpful and easy to follow. AND we were pleasantly surprised at how good the gel smells. We laughed when a friend came by while we were using it and walked in and asked what smelled so good.We seriously couldn’t be happier. And it’s great to know that we have this on hand and just need to buy the tips if we ever have this issue again.
