SomaVoluminize Thermal Spray 8 oz

My stylist put me on to this a couple of years ago when she was blowing out my hair after a cut. It's that perfect balance between a too-sticky mousse and a too-heavy cream. A light spritz does it for me. The hold is nice but my hair still moves—no helmet effect here! Smells good too, but not too strong. I don't typically spend this much on "product", but this one is worth it.

Because of the name "Voluminize Thermal Spray," I thought this would be a product you applied to wet hair and then blow-dried for volume and humidity resistance. But no, the fine print on the actual bottle calls it a "finishing spray," and gives the following usage directions: "Spray on hair to finish style." What exactly is thermal about that?I find this works like most hairspray does on my fine hair: it gives me stuck-together strands which poke out in funny directions. I try to both tame and fluff them in search of the promised volume. Then in an hour it all goes flat.I'm a vegan, and I really wanted to love this line of products, so this is a disappointment. As I say, most hairsprays don't work on my hair, so I can't say that this is any worse than others--I just wish the name of the product had not misled me into thinking it was a formula I could apply before I styled. I purchased the Soma "Concrete Gel" at the same time as this, which I'm hoping will work better for me.

a surprisingly good product.I no longer have any illusions about the advertised effectiveness of hair products. Happily, this one works for me.I have thin hair and most products weigh the locks down. soma does not do that-it holds without stiffness throughout the day. not so sure this would be the best product for very wavy or thick hair.

I thought this was hairspray but it really isn't. I use it as hairspray and it can be used on damp hair or dry hair. I have curly color treated hair and this product tames my mane. Great for humid climates.

i love this product. It holds the waves, and is light. The secret is to use 20 pumps. That's right. This trick I learned just recently. Dont be afraid to pump 20, Near roots, and all over for a terrific set.

I spray lightly before applying mouse. It gives added body and is not heavy or sticky. My hair is very fine and I find Soma works better with a little mouse.

Love the gentle way this spray adds volume to my lifeless thin hair while also protecting it from heat and holding the style in place.Always keep this spray in my collection of "Must-Haves" for hair!
