This bag pwns.
Awesome travel bag. It's not super huge so you can keep in the overhead but has enough room for short trips. I dragged it around Seattle for a convention, in and out of the rain. Took it on the ferry and had it with me most of the time and it held up well. I never strapped it to my back, rather kept it rolling around and even when I was running away from homeless attackers, it held up quite well and rolled smooth and has shown pretty much no signs of breaking down.Very happy with the purchase, probably more than most of the garbage I end up with these days.

Highly functional
This athletic looking backpack is exceptional! Extremely sturdy , well made, good pockets and rolled easily through airport . I especially appreciated that the handle was made to be long enough so I could wheel in upright position . All about function and durability!

Works really great
Update on this three years after original purchase: This is, without a doubt, the best purchase I ever made. Literally every time I use this, I think to myself, "I LOVE this backpack!" For three years I have dragged this around with me all over New York city, up and down subway stairs, over-packed with gig items (including a small speaker), with clothes and makeup for auditions; props and costumes for shows, books, binders, etc. There's even a nice outside pocket for an umbrella, water bottle or travel mug. I've taken it on air trips and it holds my laptop and a bunch of gear and fits neatly down the narrow aisles of every plane I've ridden. Incredibly light, no wear on zippers or on the telescoping handle. Now I've moved to Atlanta and I use it for quick trip grocery shopping (I walk) and it holds at least two (or 3) bags of groceries. The wheels are incredibly sturdy, the bag still looks like new. I've uploaded pictures so you can see how good this still looks and, believe me, i have not coddled this bag. There's a bit of wear on the wheels but it still works smoothly. This is an AWESOME product! THANK YOU HIGH SIERRA!Original review:I did a lot of comparing before purchasing this rolling backpack. I needed something that could withstand the streets of New York, be light weight enough to carry up subway stairs and also fit down the aisle of a plane. This bag is perfect. The wheels are wide and seem to be super durable. it is light, yet protects my laptop very well. There are multiple pockets which let me carry everything from office supplies to groceries to makeup (I'm an actor, hence the running around Manhattan). The handle is strong, and when it goes down it immediately locks to carry the bag down steps. It goes through the turnstile at the subway. It turns and moves freely. I'm very happy with this.

Durable and functional
I purchased the High Sierra Freewheel Book Bag in March of 2012 and have used it ever since to haul my computer and work items back and forth to work. I bought it because it was one of the few backpack bags that had wheels, it was big enough to hold my work laptop, books, and personal items, and it didn't cost hundreds of dollars like most rolling computer bags. I usually don't write reviews but wanted to for this item because it's proved to be quite durable and functional. After 21 months of use, there are no tears or signs of wear in the fabric on the outside or the inside. I've scuffed up the bottom hauling it over concrete steps and the bottom panel has held up to the abuse. The wheels are showing show signs of wear and may have to be replaced in a couple years, but that's expected. I wasn't sure about the bag at first because it felt a little flimsy when it first arrived. It felt too light weight to be able to last long and the handle felt a little wiggly. But I'm pleased to say it's a well-made bag that is both light and durable and the handle still functions well. Many rolling bags rattle and are noisy when you pull them. This one was very quiet for about a month, but then started to get noisier. This is why I'm giving it only four stars instead of five. But really, considering the cost of the bag, the rattle is a very minor issue. To get a completely quiet rolling bag you'd have to pay a lot more. I think the rattle is mostly in the handle -- in locking mechanism that keeps the handle from slipping after you expand it. The wheels still seem to be pretty quiet. As far as its function, the pockets and sections are easy to access and there's enough room to hold my 16" laptop, about 3" of books and papers, and misc. personal items. I'd definitely recommend this bag to someone looking for an inexpensive but durable and functional rolling computer bag.
