Excellent
Finally, a small bean-to-cup filter coffee machine that makes good coffee. We used to have the perfect bean-to-cup filter coffee machine (by Andrew James), but that broke beyond repair after only six months. We loved the old one (while it lasted) because all you had to do was keep it topped up with beans and water and descale it once a month. You could then dial-up the number of cups you wanted and the machine did the rest. This one isn't quite as convenient, as - like most others - you have to add the correct amount of water for the number of cups selected, but that's made easier by the removable water tank. It's a small machine, so doesn't take up much work-surface space, which was important for us, but only makes a maximum of two-and-a-half large mugs of coffee at a time. (If we have guests, we'll probably just use a cafetiere.)Cleaning out used grounds is easy (not at all messy); descaling will be straight forward. But best/most important of all, it makes great coffee. Excellent.Update: 19-May-2021At the risk of jinxing it, this super little machine continues to give great service after 18-months of daily use. Still five stars, still makes excellent coffee. Just thought we'd let folks know.

Worth it
Not a bad little machine. Doesn’t hold a lot of coffee beans. I’ve rated flavour at 3 as it all depends on what setting you have, what beans you have and it also doesn’t have the sexiest design. Sheerness I thought I’d be kind and go 5 because I haven’t the foggiest what that even means. And warmth I had to go 2. Mainly because she has a bit of an attitude towards me and we haven’t quite gelled yet. Also it keeps it warm for a while but not hot

Generally just poor
Very rarely write reviews but thought I best for this. Bottom line is that it is a really poor machine, very small jug, doesn't process the flavour very well, messy, hard to clean and the grinder function is pretty much useless if I am honest. Spent a lot of money on it and decided to sack it off now and bought a different make and model one after just 2 months as it's so poor.

Lovely little machine
We haven't had a coffee machine for a couple of years, and used cafitieres after our last coffee machine wore out. 'Proper' coffee (not instant) was a a rare weekend thing when we had guests to stay. For a similar price to what we paid for our last coffee machine, this has a grinder so we can choose between grinding our own beans or coffee grounds, you just pop them in the.top, select how fine they need to be ground with the knob in the picture an away you go!The machine is simple to use, easy to clean and makes up to 8 cups of coffee. It's quite compact so it doesn't take up much space on the kitchen side either.I can put it on in the morning first thing, and the pot keeps the coffee warm for just over half hour. The only thing that's difficult is choosing what coffee to use!

Hmmmm
It does work for the most part. Don't trust the settings on the machine, measure your water and coffee using a scale for a proper coffee ratio I like the 1:14 in this on its biggest grind setting. The biggest problem this machine has is the plastic taste, no matter what you do it's always present. It is possible to get a semi tolerable cup by washing the tank thoroughly then flushing a full tank of water through the machine before making a brew. Essentially I mostly use it as a grinder.

Like coffee was 30 years ago.
In 1980 I was living and working in Osnabruck in Germany and filter coffee machines were all the rage and rightly so; offering a decent cup of coffee, which was far better than instant coffee.Coffee has moved on a lot from then, with espresso type machines now widely available, for use in the home and which produce a plethora of coffees, ranging from espresso, through Americano and onwards to cappuccino and beyond. Personally, for convenience, I have been using a capsule based machine for some time, however, I do buy coffee freshly ground on a regular basis and brew it in a cafetiere. The arrival of this machine is a welcome addition to our kitchen, not only can we brew fresh coffee, we can also grind the beans too, all in one compact unit with a quite small footprint. All of my family drink black coffee and therefore this item is ideal for family breakfasts and the like at weekends. So far we have taken our coffee very coarsely ground, as that is the way we tend to buy it when asked in coffee shops as we don't like the gritty coffee arising out of bean being too finely ground. Coarsely ground coffee allows the flavours to be extracted more slowly, however, as you cannot adjust the flow of water over the grounds, you have to experiment a bit until you get it right. So 4 stars? Yes afraid so. It is a very neat machine and make around 4 cups of coffee. I really don't like mesh filters and prefer the paper type and that is what I will be searching for to replace the nylon mesh. I also found the fill mechanism is not consistent in terms of the time it takes to brew the coffee, despite using water of I assume a similar temperature (we use a water filter in a jug). Not a bad item and worth considering if you like to experiment.

Just what I was looking for!
I chose this coffee maker primarily for its compact size - my kitchen’s quite small - but I really like everything about it. It’s easy to use, doesn’t take long, makes great coffee, and can be used with either beans or ground coffee. Suits me to a t!
