Only difference between this & cheap foams are colors. Do not expect this to withstand anymore heat than cheap foams or Scotch tape for that matter. This is not to be used around exhaust any duct work nor furnace exhaust pipes unless the pipe is triple lined already (2 pipes inside a larger pipe). If your looking at this for a furnace pipe in your ceiling/wall that has a gap around it, this is not worth a chit for that this. It melts right off when heat is applied. So in no way shape or form is this any type of a fire blocker, it "might" block some smoke but any spray foam will do that. This one is just orange in color, do not spend any more than a cheap spray foam unless color matters to you. Utter trash! There are far better fire retardant fillers on the market that actually work to protect your home from fire/heat from a stove/furnace pipe.
