I purchased these because at the time I was looking for a pair of light cotton pants for summer (to give some sun protection and keeps the mosquitoes at bay) and, well, the local stores sure didn't stock any, especially not for men. So when I saw these pants I jumped online to see what they were all about and, more importantly, how to wear them. Now I'm 5'11" and about 150-155 lbs with a 32 inseam, so I wasn't too sure how they would fit - would they be too long, too wide, too short? Still, for the money, and the fact there was nothing local, it was worth taking the chance. I'm glad I did.The pants arrived wrapped in a plastic bag with a small set of instructions for how to wash (hand wash/gentle cycle) and wear/wrap them. They were indeed cotton and very thin, though they seemed robust and well sewn. Unfolded, the pants looked huge and yet short, but putting them on I found I could wrap and tie them around my natural waist and have the legs end just about ankle height. Perfect! So why am I not giving them five stars? A couple of reasons:1. There is only one pocket. Now that is a glass half-full/half-empty kind of thing. On the one hand, most pants like this don't have any pockets at all, which means if you want to wear them out of the house you have to find some other way to carry wallet, keys, cell phone, etc. (I use a fanny pack). So having a pocket is a good thing. Unfortunately, that pocket can't carry all the stuff I tend to take with me and, because the material is so light (though the pocket is sewn on securely), anything not smooth - say a set of keys - quickly becomes irritating and is also likely to wear away the material prematurely. Finally, I simply don't like being unbalanced; putting what I can in one pocket with nothing to balance it out on the other side is, for myself at least, uncomfortable.2. The waist tie is very thin - think shoelace thin- though, like the pocket, it is sewn on securely. I would have preferred a thicker tie as, depending on how tight you tie it (and if you're using the pocket, you'll have to tighten it more than you would if you didn't), it can "cut" into the waist a bit. Nothing dramatic by any means, but it is noticeable.Since purchasing these I've worn them at least one day every week around the house, out in the yard, while doing yoga (cliche alert!), and going for walks in the neighborhood and find them - with the two exceptions noted above - to be very comfortable pants and solidly recommend them.

Very comfortable, even more so after soaking in some fabric softener during hand washing. Care sheet included recommends hand washing. They seem pretty sturdy but fabric may not hold up well in machine wash. I didn't want to take a chance. Faint bleeding of color on initial wash. I used the air dry setting - no heat in my dryer for these - a bit quicker than line drying and they were softer from tumbling. I would not put in dryer on any settings that involved heat. These seem to get softer with wear also. Great for lounging, camping, yoga, etc. Bought a few more pairs in the shorter length for summer. The fabric is lightweight and comfortable on a hot day but should be fine for spring and fall also in Midwest. Plenty of room for another layer underneath if needed. Sizing accurate- these are a bit larger than many harem/ fishing type pants. Would comfortably fit women XL/ men 38-40 and probably a size or two bigger (but probably would not be able to fold fabric on side, just fold top down over ties.) Would be fine for someone much smaller also. The ties DO stay tied which was a concern when buying but I have not had any issues. These stay in place and can be adjusted to variety of sizes and can be pulled up with waist rolled if you do not want them so saggy in the crotch. (Perfect pants to lend to house guests and make a great gift if you do not know someone's size! ) I want them in more colors.

Even washing these in the delicate spin cycle, these tear at the stitching very easily. They are comfortable, but they don't last long with light wear. I have no idea how people would work out in these and not expect them to rip.

OK for starters, when I say they're almost long enough for a tall guy. What I mean is, I'm 6'4" and they don't quite go to my ankles. I usually like things to be extra long, but after reading reviews and now trying them on, I don't seem to mind the length. I would say that the best features are the amount of room in the pants and the price. If you have a bigger waistline than me (42"), the fold up front won't have a fold. But if the ties still have enough length (and I think they do) then I don't see a problem with the waistline. It actually might make it more comfortable. The only reason I gave 4 stars, is because I would have likes a little more length. But being that I'm so tall, I should be shopping in a big and tall section anyway. If you think these look comfy and you don't mind the price, I say buy em. I'm glad I did.

Fast shipping, no issues. Incredibly comfortable, light, and good quality. I would suggest some kind of insert with instructions, since a lot of people may not know how to tie these pants properly, even though it's really easy to do. Definitely recommend- I'll be back!

These are amazing for their versatility. Worn long they work as a casual night out to dance pant. Worn high at or above capri length, simply by adjusting waist waste material, they serve as great beach or poolside wear as well. The compliments received help a lot too! Will buy again, if I can wear this pair out.
