One of my favorite books. Highly recommend!!

but I did. The structure of it is fascinating. It's probably not going to resonate with a reader who prefers strictly traditional narratives, but if you're someone who's getting bored with a lot of the contemporary literary fiction out there these days, you might find reading this invigorating. It's beautiful and unsentimental.

Maso's "composite" novel is at once heart-breaking and eye-opening; a narrative tapestry woven tightly together by threads of many surprising colors. A must-read for anyone who has looked at the stars, loved illicitly, wondered about death and delighted in fresh fiddleheads. Gorgeous!
