Can't say enough good things about this product
I've purchased 6 or 7 of these over the past couple of months. Use Prime all the time. Can't say enough good things about this product. I retired recently after being a fleet supervisor for a port. A lot of things break over the course of each day. I know what I need to get the job done so it's dependable and long lasting and in this case ergonomically friendly. Never pays to take short cuts. This product saves you time and money (some might say it's a little pricey but I'll gladly pay a little more for a superior product). I spend 8 full hours out doors in the hot Tampa Bay area sun. I Like being outside re-landscaping my home. I have these everywhere. My neighbors want to know where they can get one. I'm 70 and still going strong. Must be because I don't mind good physical labor. Anyway if you want a hassle free life get a few of these and be happier for it . And yes I've tried the other ones but none match this one. Never any problems. No I don't work for this company. Best wishes to ya!

A good connector for hoses, but with a risk of fusing to the faucet.
[ SEE UPDATES BELOW ]I purchased the Ulink to connect the lead-in hose of a garden hose reel to one of the hose bibs of the house. It is sold and apparently manufactured by Plastair, a Canadian company in Quebec. It has the US and Canada standard garden hose thread, 5/8" connection, and is about 8" long. The following comments apply:1. Judging by eye, it does not seem to restrict the water flow at all, even when bent as much as possible.2. Unlike a coiled-spring connector, it is very flexible and yet stiff enough to hold many bending shapes without trying to return to its full extended shape even under full water pressure; however, when bent to an extreme position it flexes back to a somewhat more open stance.3. No specification of its materials is provided either in this Amazon page or in the manufacturer's site. Its flexible corrugated body is made of some kind of plastic, while its end fittings are made of a light aluminum alloy (a 6xxx series?). Lead, along with bismuth, is intentionally added to many aluminum alloys up to about less than 0.8% or so to improve machining, while is found only in unintentional trace amounts in lead-free aluminum alloy. Plastair does not provide any information on this, so parsimoniously I assume it is not lead-free. These fittings look like they could loose shape quite easily if strong pressure were applied to them, so do not force them. (Keep in mind that connections prepared with Teflon tape on male threads and properly sized washers in god shape do not require too much force when tightening.)4. When connected to the usual threaded spigot [bib] made of brass, its non-anodized aluminum fittings can _fuse_ to the brass threads due to galvanic corrosion. This happens when metals in opposite ends of the electropotential series (such as these two) are in pressed together in the presence of an electrolyte (such as tap water), so brass acts as a cathode [-] and aluminum as an anode [+], leading to galvanic corrosion. The more water, the faster the corrosion. Several and well placed turns of Teflon tape around the spigot male threads may help reduce corrosion but it is unlikely that will prevent it: corrosion can also happens when the metals are not only in direct contact but also bridged by water. Making sure the water is turned off when the hose is not in use --as warned by the manufacturer in the shipping packaging at the time of this writing-- and *removing* the Ulink from the brass spigot at least 3 or 4 times a year are better ways to prevent galvanic corrosion.5. If the fusing to a brass spigot were to develop, the spigot would have to be removed and a new one installed. To avoid such a costly repair, interposing a "sacrificial" brass garden-hose connector between the spigot and the Ulink's coupling will shield the spigot from galvanic corrosion. I have used this method, as shown by the arrow in the attached figure.(** NOTE : If your garden hose bib has a vacuum breaker [an inexpensive backflow preventer to avoid water contamination required by some local governments] made of brass, whose attaching screw has been broken to avoid its unauthorized removal, do not connect the Ulink directly to it since fusing may create in some cases a complicated problem to solve. Interpose a sacrificial brass connector as a shield.**)Since I have been using the device for a short time so far, it remains to be seen what is its actual useful life. I like it, but I removed one rating star due to the lack of proper specs. Plastair ought to clarify whether the fittings are lead free or not -- unless certified to be lead-free, I would not use this connector for potable water.____UPDATE (October 2018)We have been using this connector for one year and a half with no problems so far. We always turn off the water to the hoses; the Ulink was removed from the sacrificial brass connector for 1-2 days in spring, summer, and fall, respectively; and the full assembly (connector and reel) was removed and kept in dry storage during winter.____UPDATE (May 2020)The connector has been in use for more than 3 years from Spring till Autumn without any problems or leaks since its installation. Given its length of trouble-free service I increased its rating to 5 stars.

Works as described.
Works well to do the job. Only recommendation is I would have preferred a hex ring on the female connector, to fit a wrench on.

Just what I needed
Both my hoses, the cheap and the expensive made for hot water one, kink at the end where I hold it and the one that is not on a reel, kinks at the faucet. I needed something to help with that to preserve the life of the hoses. This was the least expensive I could find so I decided to try it. Very happy with them (I bought 2), they "fixed" the kinks and do NOT obstruct the water in any way I can see. Also works great connected to the sprinkler, allowing a little more flexibility when placing them. They are being used/left in full Arizona sun, so time will tell how reliable they are. I will try to remember to update my review occasionally and note the wear.$7.06 each, free Prime shipping when I bought them.I plan to purchase more when the price goes back down. ;)5/13: price went down so I purchased another one. Price is even lower as I write this ($6.88). Amazon must think it is eBay or something! Really, I think all the price changes are ridiculous.

Not meant for timer
I didn't want to give it a one star because I do think its a good product. The problem is that it leaks right out of the box, and not from the ends (connections) but from the end housing. So if you want this for some kind of timed watering system, get something, or make something else. This product is not meant to hold constant pressure (At least mine wasn't).

Excellent and the one to choose. Even the Color.
Love the strength in the tubing and the longer treading for my Spliter Application is perfect.No- Leaks ( i did use T wrap too the threads )But in this application the hose rubber would not be the strong enough for my job.

Bought 3 years ago, still working fine
I bought this 3 years ago and it’s still working great. It’s been on our outside faucet, handling all the crazy Texas weather elements without fail. Would definitely recommend!

Defective thread (old version of product was great)
I bought this product 5 years ago and it worked great till recently where it started to develop a small leak. So I went back to Amazon to buy it again expecting the same great product. However it turns out the new version of the product is not the same anymore and even worse it's detective. To start the new version is 1" shorter, which is not an issue for what I use it for. However the problem is that the thread can't be screwed in all the way in, leaving about 1-1.5 thread, thus not sealing and making it leak. I got a replacement and it has the same problem. Now returning this item and need to look for another product.

Appears strong
I like it. Does provide good strain relief but doesn't hold a bent shape (returns to straight after strain is removed). I was looking for something that holds a 90 degree angle so I bought a brass 90 and kept the new strain reliever. The combo works well.

does not leak.
i had a leaking hose connection for my heavy duty commercial grade hose. the thing has almost zero flexibility which pulls on the threaded connection... stressing it to cause a steady leak killing my pressure. i bought this item to help with flexibility and it works perfectly. no leaking at connection and not leaking at Quick connection side either. really happy! with this item, hope it lasts atleast 3 summers.installation:i did use plumbers tape (3/4" X 300") just to help, probably didnt need it. Tightening: what i did was hand strength tighten to my maximum, then took out the pipe wrench to give it a half turn tighter.

Does the job
I use these to connect my long hoses to the hose reel. They are very stiff but seem to do the job better than those that have an exterior spring around the short hose.

Worked perfectly, easy to install and solved my problem
my outdoor faucet had restricted access, this solved the problem by extending the reach of the faucet and allowing easier connection of the garden hose.
