Arctic Cooling Mx-2 Thermal Compound 4-grams

I bought the Artic Cooling MX-2 on Amazon, knowing I'd have a need for a non-con-ductive thermal solution. Other reviewers provided some good information so thenI decided to try it.The consistency and viscosity is remarkably similiar to Artic Silver 5. I used asame amount as if I was using Artic Silver 5, applying it to an Intel i5-650 CPUin an Intel DH55HC motherboard. Looking at the package and thermal claims, it isalmost an equal and direct equivalent to Artic Silver 5, maybe a hair better forheat dissipation! I wouldn't dare try using Artic Silver 5 on ANY Core 2010 CPU(i3, i5, i7) because the way the substrate is packaged, there are gold contactsat the edge of the chip exposed toward the cooler side all around it. I don't ad-vise anyone to use a conductive, metallic-based thermal compound on any of theseIntel processors. Applying too much Artic Silver 5 could cause it to flow outsidethe edge of the metal cover and onto the exposed gold-plated circular lands thenresult in a short. NOT what you want to happen with a $150-$400 CPU! You'd neverknow until you fired up the system "Houston, I have a problem" and scream somehowas you curse yourself how much money you just blew and time you wasted NOT usingeither Artic Cooling MX-2 or the newer MX-3 on your Core processor.HIGHLY recommended for ANY Intel Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7 processor. Buy itand use it well!

the thermal paste tat came on the stock heatsinkfan for my amd FX4100 had apparently worn out, temps were getting so high the cpu would shut down on games like cities skylines. I cleaned out the dust from the heatsink/fan, cleaned off the old paste with rubbing alcohol and put this stuff on. temps are way down now, idle temps from 10 - 20c, gaming temps around 55c

This the best thermal compound by far. It performs as good as (if not better that) Arctic Silver 5, and is non-electrically conductive. So you don't risk frying your Motherboard or CPU if u accidentally mess up!This keeps my  Intel Core i5-760 2.8GHz 8 MB LGA1156 Processor BX80605I5760  around 27c on idle and under 50 on load! (On my  Cooler Master GeminII S Copper Base Aluminum Fins 5 Heatpipes CPU Cooler - (RR-CCH-PBU1-GP) )I have always used MX-2 and have never had any problems, and am always pleaded with the performance of this great product!

Been building computers for many many years. I use this on all my custom machines. It keeps the gamer machines within limits and puts up with heat due to overclocking.

I used this product from Amazon to fix the XBox 360 overheating problem. Worked well and the unit is now back in operation. The 'fix' is on YouTube and several other places but this product performed well as the thermal compound.

Works like a charm, and is one of the easiest to work with, with mid-grade to high heat dissipation, and a price in the low range.

I love this stuff easy to apply and does a great job at keeping my i7 nice and cool
