So comfortable for REALLY bad feet!
I have terrible problems with my feet. I have something called Charcot-Marie Tooth, which has nothing to do with my teeth, but everything to do with my feet. It's a degenerative bone/connective tissue disorder that caused my feet to become horribly mis-shapen & almost too painful to walk on. I've had numerous surgeries and wear big, thick, heavy ankle braces to protect my feet. It has been nearly impossible to find shoes that will accommodate those braces! My normal shoe size is really a 6.5W, but I bought a 8.5 4E in this shoe, and miraculously, it is almost perfect! I've NEVER had a shoe that wasn't custom made for me that fit this comfortably. And this is UNBELIEVABLY COMFY!! My feet have always ached, and with these, I feel like I'm walking on marshmallows! Also, the Velcro system that allows you to put the shoe on/take it off without unitying the laces is a Godsend. (After lacing up & tying braces who wants to also tie shoes??)I am seriously in love with my shoes! You can completely remove the insoles, or just 1 or 2 layers or add extra arch support. If you have really bad feet (or just want to have comfy feet) these shoes are for you!

Pain free!
I haven't been able to walk or stand on my feet for any period of time for years. All this is now over and I can't believe it! For the first time in years I walked the mall for 3 hours and I never had to sit down. I'm in utter disbelief. I am now a true believer in good shoes! I advise anyone with footpain to please try these!

Best Shoe for Plantar Fasciitis
I wanted to wait a week before writing about this shoe as I felt it would allow me to more accurately rate the shoe. Why did I buy this shoe? Because I had a painful fasciitis of my right heel of my own doing! I was doing my power walks with the WRONG shoe. I was using an expensive Nike shoe that was built for running. What did I do to improve the situation? First, I took non-steroidals (OTC )on a regularly scheduled basis. I tried the Extra Strength Tylenol, but it was not enough. I switched to Aleve and used the loading dose of 2 tabs in the morning followed by 1 tab in the evening and 1 tab every 12 hours for 5 days thereafter. I used this time to bring the heel inflammation in check whilst I looked for shoes. My search was based upon online reviews and comments from other walkers that I know. I narrowed the shoe down to a New Balance model versus this shoe. I ordered both shoes. The Orthofeet won because it had the best arch support relative to the New Balance shoe I had tried. I wore the shoes the first day for about 4 hours and I had no problems. They were easy to break in. This shoe, coupled with my week of scheduled OTC non-steroidals has resulted in resolution of the fasciitis. I moved on this quickly as fasciitis left untreated can become harder to manage. I purchased the shoe in white. The product did not get 5 stars only because it would be nice to have a few more colour options. The shoe laces are also a wee bit long. While they feel like an orthopaedic shoe, they do not look overly so. I give it a "dork factor"of a 5/10. It's not the most stylish shoe on the block, but it addresses the issue and allows me to go back to my power walks. My feet do not feel fatigued in these shoes after wearing them all day. I use a Smartwool Light Cushion crew sock. My medium weight Smartwool hiking socks are too thick for this shoe. The shoe comes with inserts to improve fit. For me, the fit was fine right out of the box. I wear a size 9 medium in a street shoe. I purchased a 9.5 medium and this worked well. At the highest point of the arch is where the greatest width of the shoe can be found. My toe was in the correct position with the 9.5 and the sock that I have mentioned. A friend routinely orders the New Balance in wide and street shoe length, but I would definitely go a half size up and keep your normal width when purchasing this shoe. I think I will be sticking with these shoes from here onward. It is the best supporting shoe for this price class. It is worth the money. Cheers!

Perfect Fit!
First shoe in over 8 years to fit perfect! I was so surprised because my feet are extremely difficult to fit. I have extra wide feet and muscular feet so the top of my foot is bigger than most. Add custom orthotics and a chunky combo while stability drop foot brace on my right foot, my left foot an inch longer than my right, poor circulation in both feet and crps in my right foot making it randomly swell like a balloon and I'd come to the conclusion there wasn't a show on the market that would ever fit perfect so I went out to find something that was a good fit. I've never tried on this brand before, but wow! Absolutely wow! The fit was perfect on both feet even with my orthotics and chunky brace. These shoes are wide and roomy while still gripping the foot so that it fits like a athletic shoe with the freedom of a sandal. They're cushy too, my heels felt well supported by the cushy heel with air pockets built in. And the laces are awesome! Just the them once and then undo the Velcro to put them on and take them off every other time. And the grip is fabulous. Most athletic shoes can't grip wet grass, uneven surfaces or mud but these do. I look forward to testing them out in the rain and snow to see if they grip during those weather conditions. I'm definitely saving up for a second pair!

Orthofeet make excellent footwear; high quality.
Orthofeet Most Comfortable Orthotic Athletic Shoe. The 9.5 fit like a size 10. The back of the ankle was too wide and didn't provide enough support. The toe bed was very comfortable. I have bunions and hammer toes. Orthofeet make excellent footwear; high quality. They were a good price and I didn't want to pass them up, so my friend took them.
