Alan Dunn's Sugarcraft Flower Hardcover – September 1, 2009

Yet another in a series of books by a celebrated and hugely talented sugar artist. Although this is not one of his most extensive books,Alan Dunn "groupies" will want to own it for its selection of new (and some previously seen) flowers. Presented in the same step-by-step fashionas his other instructional books, readers also have a section at the back of the book devoted to arranging the flowers featured. I foundthese cakes/flower arrangements although flawless and botanically correct as is all of Dunn's work - somewhat "ho-hum". Nonetheless, it isa good, and fairly inexpensive reference book to add to any sugar crafters library.

This book as any other instructional book from the same author is fantastic. Instructions are easy to follow, fotos are clear, easy to read, but like all his other flower making books lacks on one thing the flowers dimentiions. At the end of his books there are some patterns but not all the flower's patterns are there. So if I want to make that flower without the pattern I have to do some research in size first. Other than that I love this and all his books.

This is another high quality Alan Dunn book of instructions on making sugarart (or for that matter, cold porcelain) flowers and foliage. Instructions include, roses, Begonia, spider crystanthemums, pitcher plants, poppy seed heads, lily-of-the-valley, stephanotis, gardenias, succulents, various orchids, ginger lillies, cosmos, anemones, hydrangea, rangoon creepers, blue butterfly bush, wire vine and winterberry to name a few. Dunn takes this book a step further with some great instructions on sprays and arrangements, including crescents and some more contemporary type arrangements. A recommended buy

Arrived promptly and as described

I love all of Alan Dunn's gorgeous arrangements and this book is allowing me to try to create my own designs that, while not nearly as good as his, are very pretty.

Book was as described and as always Alan Dunns books are very informative.Great to do in cold porcelain which I saw Alan demonstrate when he was in NZ a few years ago.

Nice book little lacking in detail

Gorgeous pictorials, perfect floral sugarpaste specimens. The level of detail and artistry makes it one to behold and refer to. Love all his books!

Man sollte schon etwas bewandert in der Zuckerblumenkunst sein, dann hat man mit diesem Buch einen Volltreffer gelandet. Alan Dunn ist selbstredend einer der besten Zuckerblumenkünstler und seine Beschreibungen in diesem Buch sind, wie in allen anderen seinen Büchern auch, sehr leicht verständlich und mit vielen Bildern versehen

Just love most of his books; they make you feel like sculpting all those beautiful floral displays - in my case in cold porcelain. The explanations are quite clear and detailed. And, considering the price of most cutters, it is quite pleasant to find some money-saving templates at the end of the book!

Another brilliant book by alan dunn nicely layed out and quite easy to follow perfect for the presentation of flowers on the cakes.
