Round and rubber.
So these are balls. Lacrosse balls to be exact. After I opened the package, my son and I played catch with them. He got good enough at lacrosse that we ended up buying about a hundred more of them. We load them in a back pack and take them up to the park where there is a goal. We catch and throw and he shoots a lot of shots. When you get like 60 of them in a backpack they are heavy. So now we go to tournaments and I coach a team. It's all a big commitment. We ended up buying an RV to take to the tournaments, and go camping and stuff. Custom helmets, carbon fiber shafts, custom stringing, new heads, hotel stays, summer camps. Wow, all because we bought these pearl lacrosse balls..... who knew?

Legit
The media could not be loaded. The Chinese have flooded Amazon with so much useless crap that pretty much the only reason I post reviews, anymore, is when something is NOT useless crap from the Chinese. Someone has to look out for people. So even though I haven't used them, yet (I'm not shooting and editing a lacrosse video for an amazon review - I have things to do, lots of things), I can confirm that these are legit, really nice lacrosse balls, that you may buy without fear. You're welcome.

Exactly as advertised.
These things are awesome. They work exactly as advertised. I can rip a shot at a concrete wall from 12 years out and it deadbouces off the wall. It doesn't stop. And it does bounce back, but, at a 1/4 of the speed and bounce height that a normal ball would. They feel almost identity in weight and are the same size (as advertised). Before you drop the ball next to a normal ball, you ALMOST can't tell the difference between the two. I love these because it allows me to work on new/different shot forms (wind up and follow through) on a wall so I'm not sailing balls over the goal and having to chase every one. I can just rip these against the wall over and over til I consistently hit my mark and then I can move on to the goal.

Finally some kicka$$ lacrosse balls!
My son plays lacrosse all year between club and school. He shoots several hundred times a day at 95mph. So, even with his shot speed hitting pipe these balls do not get greased. These balls have held up better than any we’ve used. I'm quite surprised at how well they are holding up, just an occasional wiping off and they are pretty much like the day we got them. Best balls you can buy!Time for an update to this review. Another 6 months has passed these balls still feel like new! Aside from some minor discoloration due to heavy use we have not had a single one tossed into the greaser pile. Not much more to say, best lacrosse balls you can buy!

High quality lax balls
Based on ODOR (lack of!) and FEEL alone, I can strongly recommend the Pearl X lacrosse balls. Until today, I have purchased lax balls based on best price. After receiving the Pearl X balls today and comparing them to the competitors balls received earlier this week, there are stark differences to be noticed even before taking them to the field of play. The competitor balls have a gasoline like odor and feel slippery/greasy - the Pearl X balls are odorless and “sticky” by comparison. Look forward to practicing with ‘em. Thank you Guardian Innovations for manufacturing a high quality product at a competitive price point.

NX - No Bounce works great
No Bounce works great. If you don't have a goal to shoot on or scared of missing the goal and hitting windows, then this NX is what you need. We use it to shoot at a spot on the wall full speed. Doesn't fly all over after it hits the wall. It rolls back pretty slow (can't stop physics). Note that NX isn't for your typical wall ball, just for shooting on a wall. You'll still need a real lacrosse ball that bounces for wall ball.

They've held up nicely to being played on turf and grass
These are exactly as described - a lacrosse ball that does not chemically break down and "grease" the surface after being used for an extended time or left exposed to the elements over a period of time. We originally purchased these to use for autographs at an MLL game. When that didn't quite work out, they went into the bucket or the gear bag. They've held up nicely to being played on turf and grass, left outside, bounced off walls, skipped across blacktop, etc. So why only 4 stars if it is exactly what it says it is? Price point is still an issue. I understand that you are paying for a leap forward in quality but eventually the price point has to come down. I would purchase these for autographs, for a nice display piece, even for using in a showcase game but these aren't replacing the cheaper (and greasy) bucket of balls for practice or even for a weekend tournament.

Great balls, bad bucket lid.
Most difficult bucket to open I’ve ever seen. We literally had to cut the lid apart to get it off the bucket. The balls are nice and done smell like other brands, but this bucket of 100 balls took 10 minutes to get open with a sharp knife and pry bar. Maybe if you order less than 100 at a time you can skip the bucket opening fiasco.
