Red Velvet Cupcake Murder (A Hannah Swensen Mystery)

This series is very enjoyable with a bit of humor, romance, and mystery. It’s a fun and easy read and it’s fun to try to put the clues together. There are some awesome recipes included in the book. I recommend this series and this author to all who like a mystery.

I love the characters! The books are even better than the television shows. I realize that tv can't go into all the little details, but the book does. I visualize as I read. It plays out in my head, like a movie. I see a red headed Hanna, and the other characters, I can even picture the cat chases with Moishe and Cuddles. I have most, if not all of the books in the series.

This is an very interesting series of books. About 13 receipes in every book. About 30 books in the series.

Once again, Hannah has gotten involved with the victims and the suspects; while baking up dozen and dozens of cookies and drinking phenomenal amounts of coffee!Lots of recipes, too!And don’t forget the cats’ antics and the “which one does she love” problem. Maybe it’s solved this time!

While the rest of the residents try to keep cool in Minnesota's Lake Eden, Hannah has to balance the summer heat with the heat from her own oven! When The Cookie Jar is contracted for a special job with someone who Hannah has some bad history with, she tries to work on being as professional as possible. The new building will bring lots of money to downtown Lake Eden. However, it gets to be hard as Dr. Deb gives Hannah a hard time.During a special dinner to introduce the building to residents, the beloved secretary from the Sheriff's office falls from the penthouse garden. While it isn't a murder, Hannah pursues it as doggedly as an attempted murder. Then, when there IS a body found, Hannah is listed as the prime suspect in the murder. Hannah will need to clear her name AND solve both incidents promptly, before she has to spend a night in jail.Who would read this: fans of the book or tv movie series, fans of dessert recipes, cozy fans.Time to Read: 4 hoursRating: 4/5 starsFunny Story: I had a great time when i tried to put this book's narrative in my head, it's completely descriptive!Final thoughts: This is a solid entry into the series, I've said it before, but i have enjoyed the intrigue and the idea that hannah was suspected for a short time.

Once again, the author pulled it off! Lots of intrigue, humor and romance thrown in. It’s especially nice that the recipes are also included! I look forward to reading the next story!

Joanne Fluke was the first cozy author I liked. I thought all her books were exciting, fun and familar. I am going to list my pros and cons about the book. I will not continue this series. I am done! I also have to note that my review is not unique. I have read similar reviews, so I hope Mrs. Fluke is listening.ConsI am tired of the love triangle! I have had enough. Why doesn't Hannah pick someone? It's been too long. The men are stupid to stick around with no hint of her marrying either one. And Fluke has never made mention of either men spending the night. IN. TWO. YEARS. Come on!Hannah dresses odd. Who wears pant suits? Her sister is supposed to be a fashion expert but still wears a French twist. No one wears their hair that way. Fluke really needs to get fashion advice for Hannah and other characters. She does not have to be a fashion guru but gosh, dress Hannah like she lives in 2013!Her sisters daughter talks like she is an adult and she is seven! I know Fluke wants to portray her as smart but seven year olds do not talk like that even if they are smart.ProsFluke still writes a great mystery. I always have fun trying to solve her mysteries.I love how fluke always writes about food in each chapter that later tie to the recipe at the end of the book.ConclusionI am going to quit this series because the Cons outweigh the pros. Good bye Mrs. Fluke you have been a good author and I used to look forward to your next book, but I just cannot take anymore! If Fluke starts a new series that address some concerns of a large population of her readers, I am so there!

Love Joanne Fluke's character Hannah, and her sisters! Just wish she'd finally settle on the man of her choice and get on with life. This would add a whole new flavour to the mysteries! Great fun!

Another fantastic mystery from Joanne Fluke. The books are easy to read and such a pleasure. Its full of surprises and all the regulars are as good as ever.
