Great book
This book gives a lot of information for those like myself who were not taught these issues at lessons. You just need patience and discipline as there is a LOT to take in. Wonderful book.

Highly recommended for adult pianists and teachers
Liked this comprehensive and carefully crossreferenced guide to piano technique with internet video links from a fantastic teacher and musician. Emphasizes healthy posture and fingering to minimise strain. No index is the only fault but the contents page is clear. Very highly recommended for enthusiastic adult pianists and piano teachers.

Fantastic book for advanced pianists as well as teachers.
This book is a fount of useful ideas to improve your piano playing. So often a piano teacher largely teaches interpretation of music, which is all very well, but we do need to have fluency around those difficult corners and this book provides the means to gaining technical fluency, avoiding RSI and improving the sound we really would like to make. The opening section on warming up and lengthening up at the keyboard, so the arms are long and fluid is worth the book alone. I wish she would publish this part alone for everybody that uses any keyboard - and we all use the computer keyboard.I wouldn't recommend the book for beginners because it is overwhelming! The Neil Stannard books are much better for beginners (and do contain some excellent ideas for all of us pianists) - and they are much shorter.Sometimes, even though the book is huge, I wish there was more detail about technical difficulties; I find the bit on pedalling a bit brief, for example. But this book is deffo worth every penny.

Invaluable
I can't praise this enough. I've had this book only three weeks and am already seeing huge improvements in my playing and in my comfort at the piano. An intermediate pianist in my thirties, I have been struggling with recurrent hand pain for three years and was beginning to feel hopeless. Now I understand where I was going wrong and have a clear plan to put things right. In addition I can see how this book will help me become such a more rounded pianist. So many pearls of wisdom in one place. The best investment in my playing I think I could ever have made.

Expert advice for all abilities
The A-Z of piano playing with an emphasis on wellbeing. A weighty tome to be tackled in short bursts but packed with advice, tips and practical exercises. A fantastic resource for piano teachers but also for the amateur who wants to understand more about technique and artistry (and unlearn bad habits!). Based on years of practical teaching experience and performance - a brilliant source of expertise - complete with links to video demonstrations. A kindle or e-version would be perfect!

Informative but very very heavy! It needs to be rested on a table.
Packed full of interesting reads but it is so heavy that it cannot be carried around in a work bag/satchel which is a shame as I am sure I would have read more of it but it has to stay on my table at home
