Facilitates deeper understqanding of math than just getting a correct answer.
I like this clear, straightforward exposition of how to do the problems and how using multiple methods of doing the same operation can expand a child's understanding of math beyond getting the answers. I know that many of us who learned math generations ago might be frustrated by what may seem redundant methodologies for the same problem that can be worked by methods using essentially rote learning. Yet from what I could see in this book, the various problems presented started in many cases with the old methods, for long division as an example, and then presented other ways to do long division. These new methods go deeper into how one math problem might relate to another and what lies behind the methods we learned--which were basically designed to reduce the problem solving process to a mechanical procedure. So when older generations take one look at the new methods and find they can't do the problems themselves without a little effort, the pronounce them ridiculous and pointless. I like this book because it enhanced my own approach to the operations and expanded my knowledge of what lies behind these and all methods of this level of math. And with a little patience and attention it was presented clearly enough to allow me to review grade five math in a couple of hours. Not a bad investment for learning how to help the kids three generations younger than me enjoy math more and be more successful in school.

Great Math book
I purchased this Math book to make my daughter practice math on the hardcopy book. She has IXL subscription but I realize that when she is on the Ipad she can not focus on the math and end up playing games and watching videos. Over all the book is very good for praticing math, It is perfect for the grade level, Good price, too.

Great math book!!
Extremely helpful supplemental math support for my daughter. We use it as additional practice for tests and previews for the next math module in class. Really helped reinforce what she’s learning in her class.

No table of contents but otherwise good
PROS: Simple, easy to follow instructions and explanations. Logical progression through the concepts. Skills are broken down into simple steps. Simple, aesthetically pleasing pages.CONS: No table of contents or index so you have to just guess where things are or flip until you find what you're looking for. Don't buy used because they'll say it's in good condition then most of the pages will be marked up.

Very engaging for my 10yo
This was a hit with my 10yo son. He was given a workbook to work on over the Summer and I normally would have him do 2 pages at a time, so as to not overwhelm him. We ended up finishing it almost a whole month before school restarted, but his main complaint wasn’t necessarily how many pages it lacked, yet how little math sections it had and kept telling me he wished it consisted of only math.. 😳 (leave it to a 10yo who actually enjoys math lol)So I found this workbook to keep him busy in the meantime, and just two pages in he was already anxiously asking to do more 😅 The colors on both the cover and work pages were really intriguing to him, and its actually really satisfying to see how interested this has kept him. So far, he says his favorite activities are the long division exercises. Crazy, right? (I love math, but long division was my least favorite)I’m especially looking forward to the upcoming topics for him on Order of Operations, mixed fractions, solving equations, and even the intro to Geometry. He’s already hooked so I don’t doubt he will like those sections too. Overall, highly recommend this workbook, A+++

Highly Recommended
My girlfriend's son has been struggling with math for the past few years despite being a bright child. Part of the blame for this is due to the ineffective remote instruction he received during Covid. Another part of the blame is due to the ridiculous methods of problem-solving pushed by Common Core. The final fault lay with him not taking things seriously. After deciding to take matters into my own hands, I looked online for good review materials. I settled on "The Ultimate Math Workbook" series and ordered Grades 4-8 in anticipation of his enrollment in 8th Grade in August. I couldn't be happier with that decision. The problem-solving methods used are simple and straightforward with at least some effort devoted to helping the student develop an intuitive feel for the material. As of this writing, we have plowed through Grades 4-6 in 2 weeks in a Math Boot Camp style. In this way, he is seeing much more of the big picture than by studying only 1 hour per day. He's not thanking me yet, but next year in school, his math class will be like a review for him. Long story short, if your child is struggling with math, these workbooks are the tool you need to turn things around.

Great to practice!
It is great to have the workbook to practice at home without a screen. Each topic has a short explanation and 4-5 pages with math problems similar to ixl online that the kids can solve by themselves. The answers to the problems are in the last pages of the book.

Colorful and straightforward. My 11 year old picked this out after not liking a different workbook and it’s a hit. We like that it pairs with the online app.
