I bought this after schools closed last spring, right at a time when my daughter was learning to play the recorder. She knew "Hot Cross Buns" and played it nonstop for us... for a month. I figured if I couldn't fight it, I'd join it. Enter this book. It was easy enough for her to teach herself a few more songs to favor us with. We are so lucky.

I don’t really know how to ready those notes, my 9 yr old boy seem to enjoy playing song on the book

This book is great. I bought it for my 8 and 10-year-olds, and without having to give them much instruction they were able to begin playing. Great for beginners.

This book is for a true beginner. It would be fine alone; don't buy with another beginner book. We bought two "learn to play" books, and it's overkill! We prefer a different beginner book.

Brilliant beginners book for the recorder. Used to remind me how to play as haven’t since a young child. As a 36 year old adult it has given me lots of fun. Used it to teach my 8 year old some basic notes and tunes
