Rugged Leather Journal with Parchment Paper and Natural Pencil (9"x5.5") - Crockett Series By Viatori Office Product

This is a great "keeper" journal. I love the leather cover and the secure closure, but am not as fond of the paper. It is beautiful hand-made paper but I personally find it a bit difficult as a writing surface. Pencil doesn't seem to contrast enough and an ink-based instrument tends to cause ink to soak through. So hard to determine these subtle characteristics without hands-on before buying. I do like the segmented sections, though, which makes it easy to keep several topics going at the same time and easily flip right to each section. I also like how light this journal is. It is the perfect size and it's very light weight makes it easy to tuck into a purse or bag to take with.

I liked this journal. It was pretty and the cover was nice. The only thing I didn't like was the thick paper. Imagine that you chewed up paper and spit it out, then took it and rolled it out into a sheet and let it dry. That's about what you get with this paper. If I remember correctly, the description does say it is handmade, so I knew it would be a little clunky. My son liked it ok, but others may not.

Bought this for my husband so he could record his hikes. We love it! The paper is awesome and the pencil is super cool too!
