We got this for our 2 year old son for Christmas as he loves his Brio train set and loves Mickey too. He's not too fussed by the train, Mickey or Minnie (although they are very cute!) but the station has provided hours of fun for both my 2 and 4 yr olds.Once they got the knack of holding the button to recorded, releasing and then pressing to play, they have been recording all sorts of silly things to play as the trains pass through the station. Great fun, a marvellous addition to our train track.

Looks great. Feels great. Instructions seem great. Battery insertion simple. Then try and turn it on...There's supposed to be a button on one of the steam stacks, but it's just a recess. The only way I could get it to start was to poke a matchstick down into the recess, and then it would just stop when removed. Useless. Sent back for exchange. Incidentally ,over 3 weeks later and still not shown as recieved back, so hopefully I don't get double charged for this.

Son loves it, poor instructions the yellow button has to be held down to record your own sound. Not explained at all in the instructions. Originally thought it was a faulty product and about to return it.

Bought for my kids, they both enjoy playing with it. 4 stars only as It came with button batteries but did not work, a note left by the seller though.

This was a winner for the kids. Firstly its Micky. Secondly its trains. Thirdly you can record your own voice on the station announcements. Admittedly with two small boys this rapidly deteriorated into non station announcements being recorded together with dubious noises, but provided and still continues to provide great entertainment.

This is a rewrite on this review. I was about to send this back, or contact Brio since I have a disability that keeps me from being able to get to the UPS store, and Amazon charges if you need a UPS pick up. A lot of people have rated this one star because they can't figure out how to turn it on and off. It took three people in my family to figure it out. The directions say to push down on the smokestack, implying that the smoke stack is a button, which it isn't. That's misleading. The switch is actually in the front wheels. If you are holding it, push up towards the engine on the front wheels, and it will turn on, push up again, and it will turn off. Pushing the smokestack just makes you push the part of the engine down that needs to engage that switch in the front wheels. When I got mine, when I put the battery in, it turned on. I'm blind, so didn't realize that it took a AA. I put a AAA in, and it worked. AAAs are the same voltage as AAs, but AAs last longer. If you don't have a AA and your child is desperate to play with it, a AAA will work for a shorter amount of time because the spring is so long. One of those funny and happy accidents. I also read that some other people were under the impression that it made sounds. Nowhere in the description does it say that it does, because it doesn't. If you're looking for one that makes sounds, this one's not for you. I read somewhere else that somebody thought that it was excessively noisy. It's actually no more noisy than any of the other battery operated Brio train engines. I hope this review addresses a lot of other people's problems with this engine. I hope it keeps you from having to send it back needlessly. I wrote to Brio and I will call them tomorrow and let them know that they need to be a little bit more specific, when they talk about how to turn it on and off, because my family is not the only one who had trouble, judging by all the one star reviews that I read, and before rewriting my review, gave. We were just more persistent.

My toddler loves the Mickey and Minnie Brio addition to his collection. Quality pieces and as depicted in listing. Compatible with other brio pieces. Would recommend.
