The point is very sharp, and the metal is sturdy. I told a lot of the girls that go to the high school in my town about them. Seeing as they cannot bring weapons or other items for self-defense such as pepper spray to school, these are a perfect alternative.Personally, I like to wear mine concealed in the back of my hair most of the time. This is my 3rd or 4th package of Tacticlips, not because they wear out or break, because I stash them everywhere...just like I do any regular hair clips. I love clips like this, the snap metal, they are perfect for holding back my bangs, plus it's easy to carry spares. These do that, but sooo much more! I can't say how many times I've used it as designed, much less all the other random situations I've used it these clips. I dropped one of my vape devices between the car seats, I looped a piece of string through the clip and used it to fish the device out by it's magnet. I had some important papers I wanted to keep tidy, I used a Tacticlip as a paperclip. Those pieces of paper stuck with static so you have to get a nail under it to pick up, use the Tacticlip instead: its thinner which means less damage to edge of paper and you don't have to worry about fingerprints on the photo trying to get it with your fingers.Quality and sturdiness is excellent, it took me almost a year to dull the edge a little...I use it to cut open all the Amazon boxes I get, so I was using it at least once a day. I'd like to see them in more colors, I'm a red head, maybe something like the black that were available with a matte finish.
