Started up w boat gas can

Failed twice
First pump failed in 60 miles. Was replaced under warranty. Second pump leaked externally after 500 miles spraying on the block and engine mount. Was never able to get fuel pressure regulator to work properly with either. Second pump was not under warranty so I went with a different but known brand, Carter. Works perfectly with the fpr and has over 1k so far with no issue.

Returned
I installed it. It leaked gas. I returned it

Defective
Leaked upon install and provided too much fuel causing carb to be flooded. I waited more than 30 days to install so no return option for me.

Too much pressure for a carburetor
The pump fit perfectly and doesn’t leak. I have a Jeep CJ7 with a 4.2 inline 6 using a Weber 38 carb. To use this pump with a carburetor you must have a pressure regulator. I installed a fuel pressure gauge too and without the regulator the pressure wound the 15psi gauge all the way around to the zero stop peg. I’ve got it set at 4psi now and it runs great.

1989 Jeep YJ
Bought this for a 1989 jeep YJ with the 4.2 AMC inline 6. Bolted right up, didn't have any problems.

Perfect fit
I got this to replace the fuel pump in my 1983 Jeep CJ seven and as advertised it was a perfect fit I would highly recommend it

Should be a "no star". Failed after 12 miles
Looked good, fitted fine, ran fine for 12 miles. Then stopped. Dead.No leak through the weeper hole, so I assume it is not the diaphragm. Presumably one of the valves is stuck. At least it is not a big job to take off and fit a new one.... (once you have been towed home...)79 CJ7 258

What I ordered
Seems to be a well build unit as advertised. Fit was right on. Came with two gaskets

Order defective
It leaks gas. Just put in and it’s garbage. Not able to return. Do not buy. Choosing 1 star as I can’t select 0

Ethanol kills these.
This pump diaphragm is failing because of ethanol in your fuel. More than 15% ethanol at the pump is the killer.

Cheap pump
Only pumped a small amount of fuel before the diaphragm let go and started leaking out the hole on the side of the pump.
