It Works.
I switched to this after reading about Lead Acetate. That is some nasty stuff, and it is used in most products that eliminate gray hair. This product is not as fast acting as the products with Lead Acetate. But it also doesn't cause Cancer if you accidentally get it on your skin or even worse, if you have a cut or abrasion on your hands or scalp when you apply it.It has to be used a little differently. When you apply it, you have to leave it in for several hours. The smell is kind of funky... not quite chemical like other products, but not quite something you want to smell like. (Almost a "nutty" odor)Your hair will turn noticeably darker immediately after applying. This change is not permanent, and it's not color-fast! It will rub off on nearly everything your hair comes in contact with. It's gets better when it dries a bit, but you do need to rinse before bed or your pillow will stain. It's best to use a gentle soap (baby shampoo?) when washing your hair, or just rinse your hair until it really needs a wash. It does a good job as a styling cream, which is a good thing, because you can't use creams or gels when the product is in your hair. When you rinse out your hair before bed (to avoid a brown pillow) much of the darkness will rinse out. However, each application does increase the amount of darker hair that remains. (And gray reduction, which is why we bought it!)So... it's not quite as easy to use as the Youthair Creme or Just For Men, or Grecian Formulas with Lead Acetate. But if you do 5 minutes of research about Lead Acetate... you'll probably agree that the two minor caveats associated with this product (funny scent and potential for staining) far outweigh the dangers of rubbing a toxic, heavy metal, known carcinogen into your scalp :)

It Works Gradually
And that's a good thing! I bought the smaller tube of the brown cream.I began to really notice in pictures, my hair graying a bit more than the 'salt-n-pepper' look, which I didn't mind too much. I wouldn't dye my hair, but this product seemed like a good maintenance kind of easy solution. The product works gradually, so I can decide when it looks 'right.' I'm not looking to abolish the gray, just to tone it down. This is the right product for that.My hair is pretty thick, with a color of medium brown, maybe with some blonde highlights in it during the summer months of sunny weather. The instructions say to use it about 3 times a week, so that's what I did. I just messaged it into my hair, towel dried but still damp.At the end of the first week, I could absolutely see a difference, but it was very subtle. Still, it covered enough of the gray that I'm already thinking of using it less. Now, I'm at the end of week two, still using it 3 times a week, skipping days between usage.I probably still have gray, but I don't really see it much. It looks natural, and I look my appropriate age. In week two, I really only noticed gray around the temples, which is actually not a bad look for a guy in his late 50's. But this stuff works so gradually, that I decided to test out covering the gray even in those areas, so I made sure to focus on those areas, week two.Very happy with it! I still have a mild salt-n-pepper look, but it's very light, and not really noticeable. So, after two weeks I can say this product has worked. And now, I can decide from week to week or in between hair cuts if I want the gray to look more or less prominent. After just two weeks, I have the result I was looking for. It was easy, and looks completely natural. No one has even noticed a difference, which is really what you want.Just follow the directions & you'll gradually get the results you want. Also, don't blow dry your hair the day you use it. The heat from the hair dryer locks the color in more permanently, and you don't want that! Just let the product do it's work gradually. You can still shampoo it and use styling products anytime, and even blow dry your hair on the days you don't use it.So, yeah, after two weeks, it works to the point that I'll use it less, then mainly just between haircuts. If you used other stuff that didn't work, or made you look ridiculous, you can safely use this stuff. Maybe start with the smaller bottle, like I did. After two weeks, I've only used about a quarter of it.
