This is excellent. Adi Shankara was the last 12 strand DNA Seer who brought the Hindu renascence back 4000 years back. The Hindu literature is highly distorted by the white man and the communist traitors however, great learned souls like Swami Chinmayananda could give us authentic literature with his commentaries making it easy for a layman like us to comprehend the highly sophisticated Sanskrit literature. I recommend most of his book including his The Holy Geeta.

So beautiful to read that that it just makes me lost in it. Such a deep philosophical concept of The Great Adi Shankaracharya ji, explain in easy going mannen while maintaining the lyrical magic of orginal text.

This is the first printed copy of Bhaja Govindam that I have owned, but like most Hindus interested in Vedanta, I was already very familiar with the verses. I have spent some time with this book now, and intend to study it well.Swami Chinmayananda's prose is lucid and yet powerful. It's always refreshing to see this poem presented through the eyes of a bona fide master of Vedanta. Swamiji is careful to point out that this poem has undergone quite a bit of mutations during its career, and the particular version in this book is chosen after some consideration on how the entire thing hangs together. There are 31 verses in all. The first verse is the famous chorus ("bhaja govindam, bhaja govindam.."), the next 12 and the last 4 verses are ascribed to Shankaracharya himself, and the remaining 14 to his various disciples whose names Swamiji mentions very helpfully.I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in understanding the spirit of renunciation that underlies any serious pursuit of the Absolute. Bhaja govindam!

Another gem in philosophical texts of Jagat guru Shri Adi Shankaracharya. The commentary of Swami Chinmayananda is excellent and very useful to arrive in correct understanding

Outstanding commentary by Swami Chinmayananda. Like in his other books, he has managed to explain the import of this beautiful text with examples and analogies that hit home the point. This thin book is a must as one starts on the spiritual path.
