excellent buy
These are pretty simple and plain looking In-ear head phones. I picked these up on a whim. Not really expecting much out of them . What I found was that these ear phones actually sounded a lot better than some of my higher priced head phones. These are not the mighty low $$ head phones the will slay the mighty $ 80-150 head phone but ... These easily can go head to head with some of the higher priced in-ear phones that run up to 60$ price range like: V-MODA Metal , Klipsch Image S3 & S4 , Monster 133262 ,Ultimate Ears SuperFi 4 & Logitech Ultimate Ears 350vi. The cabling is done really well. It's a thick flat rubberized plastic that does not tangle much and can take some abuse. I've dropped my Cowon D2 about a dozen times while holding onto just the ear pieces to see if the wiring would come loose and everything staying intact. I can not say that for any of the Ultimate Ears. I'm currently using the headphones with a Nokia 920 , Samsung s3 & SGH-1917 phones , Cowon D2 & z2. The mic / play pause button does not work with the Cowon devices and does not work on Windows 7.5 or 8 phones. So the upsides to the EM1 are their price + performance / sound . the negatives for them are the pause / play button and mic do not work with Cowon & Windows OS phones. One tip I can give for any buyers out there who pick the Cowon EM1s up is to remove the ear pieces and then remove the black cloth / film that is covering the EM1's speaker area... this will get rid of the slight muffle sound you experience when you crank up the volume this will also increase the volume a bit too.

but I love the product and am happy to rock these red ...
I am an unapologetic Cowon Stan. I've been rocking these mp3, media players, head phones since the X5. The HD sizes have gotten smaller and they seem to have been pulled back to the pack, but I love the product and am happy to rock these red boys.

Tough little guy with good sound for price.
Bought in 2016Used for a year.Really good headest for the price. I am no audiophile so I can't really dissect the quality of each sound. Then again at the price range you shouldn't be. Performs well overall and the wires hold up very well under rough use. If you are someone like me who is careless enough to use it everywhere, go ahead and buy these.

Cowon EM1 the best pair of earphones in this prize range.
The best pair of earphones at the prize range and ever higher!! These are second pair(misplaced the first one). Been using them since a year and they never disappointed. The mid range is a little overpowering but the lows and highs are perfect. The bass is very balanced and doesn't overpower the music. The noise cancellation is very good too!! The cable is the best in these, it's a flat wire and doesn't get tangled even after placing them in the pocket! The mic is very responsive and clear during calls. For this prize don't think much. Just go for it!!

Some of the best headphones for the price
Some of the best headphones for the price. Mid range is a little over powering which can lead to the quality of sound being distorted at times, but for the cheap price its expected. Also really love the flat style of the chord, really prevents the chord from tangling. Would buy again when looking for a pair around $25.

Good sound quality...
This is my first in-ear-canal earphone. The sound quality is really good.I also have Bose IE2 and I can comfortably say that Cowon made a good job here. But I had a little problem. When I listen something at low sound levels while walking or exercising, I here the sound of the cord, its friction, and it is really annoying. As I said, this is my first time with an "in-ear-canal earphone" and I don't know if this is normal. But it is really annoying.

True unbiased review: Try this to believe what you were missing in sound quality!!!
Being an avid music lover of all sorts,I have used Sony,Creative,JBL and Senheiser....e.t.c and finally stumbled upon this tangle free pair from Cowon. Oh boy! what a clarity! The negative reviews which i see here in this forum is basically due to the device used to review this unit [It's like a Ferrari being towed by bullocks rather than it's v6/8 engine :) ]. I own a Oneplus1 and let me say that this pair just pours down pure bliss into your ears. The people complaining about lack of bass should know the fact that this pair just delivers SOLID bass when used with proper device/app and equalizer (Google play music and Audio FX by Maxx audio in my case). I have noticed that it can hold on to high quality tight bass at high volumes where others start to sound cracked/inflated [You should feel the difference between inflated boomy bass(JBL/Sony) and solid punchy bass (This pair). Now if i talk about the balance through high to low pitch, this pair just strikes every note in the harmony and is just awesome! This enables you to differentiate between different instruments playing which you generally notice in headphones above 2000 INR. This is by far the best your money can buy under 1000 bucks keeping in mind it's worthy competitors like SoundMagic, 1 More piston fit and Senheiser cx 180 street. The only product which equals this piece is the Xiaomi piston 3 which is unavailable for a long time and the authenticity is also a questionNote: I don't bother about the mic in this pair, that's just a welcome addition.Build quality: 9/10Sound quality: 9/10Design/Aesthetics: 7/10 (Scored low due to lack of branding and L shaped connector)Comfort: 9/10Value for money: 10/10Should you buy this? DEFINITELY YESSS!

Really cool first stage experience
My first day of usage and I am super startled by the quality!! I have been using several earphones in the same price range since quite sometime and I am serious about quality, ergonomics and depth of music. I have had soundmagic es18 for 2 years.. and have been through cx180 as well..I replaced 630b extra bass cause I was disappointed with quality in first few seconds and it came to be either these (had eye on these since es18 inception) or mi capsules ..let’s see how they perform in the long run.(Tested on Spotify tracks and custom equaliser settings for bass)

Better than what’s expected at this price point!
Good high and more than average low ends, mids r great❤️....no boomy bass tho! Blues, pop and classical r the best genre to hear on this headphones as the vocals and sound stage is quite well defined....but don’t get me wrng. The other genre r also good on the earpiece. Of course recommended and yeah bang for the buck kinda headset! Build quality is sturdy and will survive daily use with ease!!
