Good book of culture, bad book for cooking!
If you want a book about brief Caribbean culture in food then this book is great, if you want a cook book then you should look elsewhere. The cooking in this book is as brief as the back of a pot noodle. The ingredients in the jerk chicken for example are: jerk seasoning.... cheers for that I don’t know why I didn’t think of that myself! The point of Caribbean food is intense flavour but when I cooked the spicy herb prawn noodles the ingredients ratio was all wrong as if they hadn’t even bothered checking to see if it was actually enough themselves(could taste the noodles over the sauce because there was so little sauce). Real shame as reading both their story’s they sound like nice guys!

History and culture in a cookbook!
This cookbook is outstanding. In fact it is more than a cookbook. A book steeped in Jamaican culture and heritage. We are grateful to our mums and grandmothers who cooked these delicious meals and who we remember as we cook these recipes again. Food is such a fundamental part of every culture and when we cook our own food we keep a key aspect of our culture alive.

Highly recommended for various reasons.
Absolutely fantastic book!I cannot wait to try out every single recipe in this book, I believe they will all be a hit with the family! Not only is the book full of amazing delicious sounding recipes I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Craig, Shaun and their family in Jamaica.I particularly enjoyed the part about going to church and looking forward to dinner later as it reminded me of my childhood growing up in church!I shall be recommending this book and their Instagram page to everyone I know as they seem like such wonderful people who truly can cook!I have followed these brothers since they released their first cookbook and watched them grow on Instagram and Facebook. You won’t regret buying this, not just for the recipes but the story behind the recipes and how Nanny is a big influence, get a lil Caribbean in your home and get this book! Rice n Tings
I have been following Craig & Shaun for over a year, there cooking traditional Caribbean food is fabulous to watch. Then I see their book and I ordered it Friday and by surprise it arrived Sunday. All is well in my world, I bought it to improve the skills my father instilled in me. Not only have the boys included fascinating facts of returning to Jamaica, the recipes are easy to follow especially when you already have the basics. I am delving into fish to widen my pallet and a bigger variety of dishes to cook. I am really excited to make my own patties as I find the local ones to me are too dry! Thank you Craig & Shaun, keep it up!!✊🏾
