1/4 Inch Thick Memory Foam Non-Slip Yoga Mats with Carrying Strap and Bag - Black Lava

After three weeks of approximately 45-minute daily use, it started pitting and getting holes. It is a nice thickness, didn't slip on hardwood floors, and laid out flat. I'll keep using it until the holes get as bad as the last mat and then start searching for something that can hold up better for daily use.

So I would consider myself to be a beginner yoga practitioner. I have been slacking off over the summer but was attending classes regularly 2 to 4 times a week for a good 8 months before that. This includes several different styles including deep stretching, vinyasa flow, and Ashtanga but not hot yoga. I have tried several different yoga mats and this is one of the best just out of the box. Some of them are a little bit slick and hard to stay balanced/positioned on initially, and others are too stretching. I'm very happy with this one. My husband and I have both used it and like it. We've got a couple in rotation and stashed around between the cars, but are both happy to use this one and it's definitely more comfortable and Squishy than the Studio's Loaner Mats. It also didn't start off with in a terrible chemical smell that can be distracting when your face is on it.I'd recommend this product for anyone looking for a nice yoga mat in a solid color. It just has the elastic straps so nothing too fancy but those work just fine, or it fits fine in my bag.

Started out fine but within a couple of weeks doing hatha and vinyasa flow yoga the mat began to crumble. Everytime I use it there is a pile of black "crumbs". I also find myself slipping a lot.I wish I could return it!

The mat is fine, surface seems to be a personal preference. I don’t appreciate that it’s losing chunks already, and in general because of the surface texture it’s not super easy to clean.

Let me start by saying I DO recommend this yoga mat.BUT (there it is), it wasn't quite as non-slip as I was expecting.That being said, this mat is made of the little "bubbly" or sort of "bumpy" memory foam that looks a bit like tiny convex waffles. Is that helpful? Know what I'm talking about? Anyway, this mat really does have pretty good grip, but not when you start to get warm, clammy, and definitely not super sweaty. Generally, my practice has my body sweating before my hands and feet, so it has worked really well for me!I have not done hot yoga with this mat, so I can't report how well it works when you are truly covered in sweat from head to toe.The little carry strap that it comes with would definitely be super useful if you don't have a yoga bag!My last note on this yoga mat is that, although I do NOT use my tennis shoes on my yoga mat for fear of tearing it, I have not noticed any tears from shifting my weight in circles on any point. So that's definitely a plus as well!

First of all, as soon as you order, the company Jiva sends you an email that's super sweet and gives you a downloadable image of yoga poses for free. Just a really genuinely customer-oriented business. The mat is nice, doesn't stretch out like my old flimsy one. Not super thick, but being super thick isn't the point so that's no big deal. Comes with a carrier bag and an elastic holder. Just a nice product especially for beginners who want to take it seriously but don't know if they're ready for a freaking $100 mat yet.

Love the comfort of the mat but after 1 month of use I noticed it almost looked like little chunks were pulled out. After 2 months of use several chucks are pulled out. The mat is actually falling apart. Love what the company stands for but very poor quality product. Very disappointed in this purchase.
