It's ceramic and breakable the top cover or lid is plastic

Is this insulated? Does coffee stay hot?

not insulated...stays hot a little longer with lid,but i wouldn't recommend if your looking to keep coffee hot like insulated cups.don't misunderstand this cup is beautiful and well worth the price and my tea with lid on stays hot long enough to drink it all gone.

I don't know where this was made but my wife loves it . It is heavy and beverages taste much better than they do from plastic travel cups.

what is the measurement from the base to the bottom of the handle.I am actually after a cup that will go in couch cup holder need 3" clearance
