Best back scratcher I've ever owned. Love the weight and it's scratching ability.

Very happy with the sturdy construction and usefulness of the Bear Claw Back Scratcher!No more attempts at gymnastic stunts, door frames, or hunting for any other contraption I can find to ease a itchy back! The Bear Claw IS the ideal problem solver! It telescopes out and retains its sturdiness at any length you wish...yet is small enough to fit into a handbag, glove compartment, etc.I am going to order more Bear Claws as gifts. Actually, it is the perfect gift IMO... unusual, practical, well-made and problem solving... as well as extremely reasonable. I mean...What more could one wish a gift to be??I have tried the bamboo type. Yes, they work... but they also have a tendency to be less quality controlled and hence... there is danger of slivering from them. Yeah Bear Claw!!

I had paid more on a recent road trip at a convenience store for a similar, flimsier (NON-bear-claw) telescoping back scratcher and loved that one so much that I hit Amazon looking for more, and found this awesome bear-claw model. This bear-claw scratcher is very sturdy, and I don't have a problem with the bear claw head rotating like one person said(perhaps they've put so many miles on theirs that they've loosened it up?) I don't know if it remains as sturdy if completely extended, but, really, it gets everywhere I need with just a single section extension. The handle/grip of the item(s) I received looked a bit different than the picture, the grip has a very thick, coating of a solid rubber, making it very comfortable to hold & use. I ordered 2 in my first order & got 1 brown handled scratcher & 1 red handled scratcher. Loved them so much I want one for every room I spend time in, so that I don't have to go get one from another room. I seriously can't be without having one right at hand when I want it, so I ordered blue & Black handled ones from other sellers that specified what color they were selling, so that each room will have a different color, and now I'm ordering several more in random colors from the original seller, so that I can give them to family members as they fall in love with mine, or as birthdays come along, whichever comes first :)You really can't go wrong in getting this product. It's inexpensive, with free shipping, even, and will be well worth every penny. In fact, the relief you'll get from it makes it worth a lot more. so if, by some chance, you do abuse it enough to wear it out & break it prematurely, you'll still get all of your money's worth out of it. Again, mine is so sturdy, I can't see it breaking for years, even though I use it all the time.Get it, You'll enjoy the hell out of it, guaranteed.

I bought this for a friend who is always coming his hair and beard with a rake-style back scratcher, so I bought him this alligator claw one for fun. It's not terribly useful for that purpose but it makes a decent back scratcher. He's still wondering who sent it to him....

First let me say the item I received is well made and works great. Now for the bad news. If you order this item here, take a good look at the picture, because it's the only view you will ever get of it. I ordered this thinking it would be the black handle with the paw prints on it. Not even close. I got a red handle (I hate red) and no paw prints, and the claw was shaped completely different. This seller is advertising a product that they do not have. I e-mailed the seller directly and asked for them to send me to correct item - the one they show in their description. Instead, I received a note from Amazon saying they were refunding my money. That's it. No reply from the seller, no real resolution. I didn't want my refund, I wanted the item I ordered. I will never do business with this company again. Instead, I'm going to buy one of the other bear claw back scratchers from a different company on Amazon. I really feel Amazon should deny this seller any right to sell anymore because this is pretty much fraud.

This review is for "The Bear Claw! Extendable Back Scratcher." I am noting this because Amazon tends to take the reviews of several similar products and piles them all together so you don't really know what your looking at. The Bear Claw is THE only back scratcher you'll ever need. When I ordered it, I was not given the option of color choice, but they sent me a nice blue one and it looks great. It has a firm grip rubber handle so its easy to control. The Claw extends to an overall length of 22 3/4" (including the rubber handle, the telescoping arm and the claw at the end). The claw measures 1 7/8" long x 1 1/2" wide x 5/8" deep and is made of a polished chrome metal that is smooth to the touch, but not so smooth that it doesn't satisfy a troublesome itch. Since it's telescopic in three sections, you can make it as long or as short as you like for optimum performance. The telescoping arm is quite sturdy, much better than I thought it would be, and should last for a good long time. Note, there are many similar products on Amazon, so when you look for one of these, keep in mind that it is NOT accurately represented in its picture, which shows a back scratcher with a black handle covered in bear paw prints. This must be an older, outdated photo. The one you'll get is randomly selected from various colors. Other back scratchers on Amazon will show pictures more closely matching this one, but the prices are different on all of them, so I recommend buying the one pictured as described here. The price was $3.95 with free shipping (as of February 7th, 2013) and shipped from the seller MyJewelThief in only two days! Get this one and you and your itch will be quite satisfied.
