AccuVent 22.5'' x 41'' 24'' o.c Flame Retardant PVC Attic Vent 50 Pack ACBP11739

We are building our own house, so we are learning as we go. While researching attic insulation, I became aware of the need of something like this (which makes sense because why would you put up bird board for ventilation then put insulation up against the bird-board?). I ordered this variety and today I put about 48 of them up. The picture shows the versatility of these things: Not all of our rafter is right on the mark (we did hire some crazy young men and a crane to come and place those and most are dead on, but...) But this product has perforations if you need to rip some off the edge, and it's cut easily with a good pair of scissors. I have to add to the side of one, and cut another down to fit the weird two rafter section, and I had to cut diagonals to get into the corners. These things are amazing. On a standard rafter span, they go up in about a minute. Two if the wind is brisk. I found that the material was really sturdy (for thin flexible plastic). It's expensive, until you consider how much your time is worth. Ordering another 50 today. Nice, nice product.

At first when I received my order I was sceptical about the quality. After the installation of the first row my scepticism went away. With gentle handling, easy cutting and bending installation was a breeze. As the matter of fact I bought a second set to retrofit my old roof. It is thin but compared to Lowe’s and Home Depots’ similar products it is a win-win for me. A couple of staples went trough but it was easy fixable to staple right next to it. Once installed it is fairly sturdy. I am glad I made the right choice.

Easy to use. People who wrote bad reviews weren't capable of understanding how simple this product really is. Also the product is as sturdy as it needs to be it's not a kite it's a soffit vent. As long as your not an engineer you shouldnt have any problems.

The first one was a little tricky to install, then i saw the little "staple here" indicator pressed into the plastic. Truly 6 staples and they were up. Hardest part was going up and down the ladder 50 times. Cuts out a whole step of insulating my detached. Now all i'll need is to blow the insulation in for the ceiling. Can't believe the big box stores don't carry these.

My complaint is that the material is fairly brittle and firing staples into it takes some practice or you'll find that you're just firing holes into it. Really had to back off the PSI on the stapler all the way and still had to be careful. Not convinced that this product is any better than standard straight rafter vents. In theory these should provide more insulation coverage.

Way too thin and flimsy. I was expecting a little more rigid plastic. Hand staples break right through the plastic. Also the wind blew half of them out the next day. Stay away unless you have no choice.
