Liked it...
I was just excited that it rated Horror of Dracula as #1 because I love that movie but The Exorcist has always been my favorite horror film. I saw this book in a bookstore and wanted it and thought it was too expensive. Much cheaper through Amazon so I went ahead and bought it. If you like horror films it's a nice book to have around.

Keep 'em coming, Gary!
Great photos, wonderful lay out, and delightful text. The only thing that could be nit-picked is the exact order of his ranking. No doubt, your top ten, top 100, or #1 ranking and his are likely to be a little different. That being said, all 100 that he lists are worthy of special attention, and this is a great way to find out new "must see" films for your netflix list. The other two books (Top 100 Sci-fi and also Top 100 Fantasy) are also equally fun. I hope he does more.

COOL book, but only 75 films, there are 15 print errors.
The book covers some GREAT classic films, mostly older films with a smattering of Newer films. However, there are only 75 films properly coveredas there is a print error in the book that is present on 15 of the titles. 15 of the titles have a re-print of the review for "House of Dark Shadows".As I bought it used, I'm not out a lot of money, but buyer beware...if I had paid full price I would be very annoyed. I'm shocked that a publishercould let a book go out this way. BUYER BEWARE.

Another great book by Gary Gerani
This book, along with Top 100 Sci-Fi Movies , are great genre references. This one follows the same format with stunning photos, reproductions of each movie's theater poster, runtimes, aspect ratios and other info that is certain to send genre buffs into orbit. Gerani supports his ratings with some great opinions and informs with actor/director info and plot summaries. The design and quality of the glossy pages are top notch, too. This is worth every penny!

Excellent Book on Movie Horror.
Excellent Book on Horror Movies. Though I might disagree with some of the rankings, this book is awesome as both a guide and pictorial history of Horror Cinema!

About every classic you can dream of!
What a fantastic book, the fun just doesn’t seem to stop!About every classic horror movie can be found back in this top 100, clearly (and expertlty) written by a true horror afficionado and lavishly illustrated throughout (with original film posters and photo-stills) .Each title in this countdown from 100 to number 1 best horror film (mostly older but also new) of all times is reviewed starting with Info about the makers, actors etc. before continuing with a plot summary, the reasons for it being in the top 100 and a ‘best moments in the film’ according to the writer. As each ‘top’ is debatable, I personally would have liked a few more recent titles in the top 10 (or throughout the whole book), which consists mostly of (really) older classics among some newer work.Thinking about it, I sort of do miss certain titles - for example ‘Friday the 13th’ (this while ‘Halloween’ is in it), ‘I know what you did last summer’ (one of personal favourites), ‘The Hills have eyes’ as well as maybe some minor (but good) titles like ‘Hellnight’ (with Linda Blair), ‘The collector’ (with Samantha Eggar), ‘Curtains’, ‘The burning’, ‘Madman’, ‘Xtro’ ,Candyman’ etc. Maybe another book with a top 100 of these lesser (but still by many fans adored) films will (hopefully) come out Some time soon in the future!Although it was published in 2010 (and consequently a bit dates), and if you’re mainly interested in classic horror movies, it’s all in all an excellent buy!

Interesting book with appalling binding.
The contents of the book are as it says on the tin. A discussion of the author's 'best' 100 horror movies of all time. As you would expect there are some contentious issues in regards to the choices, none more so that the author's choice for the #1 spot. All these I accept with good grace. All the major bases are covered but there is distinct lack of scope in that whilst Bava and Argento recieve entries (in the case of Argento the popular option is listed in 'Suspiria' whilst I consider 'Deep Red' and probably 'Inferno' to be better films) but poor old Lucio Fulci recieves none. In fact not even 'Dawn Of The Dead' makes the list. Now the real problem with the book and the reason it receives 3 stars and not 5. The binding of the book is atrocious. I literally had the book no longer than 10 minutes and had been very carefully perusing it when the first 18 pages just dropped out. I find this extremely disappointing but it has to be mentioned and has to be considered in awarding the book it's star rating. Without the binding issue I would have granted the book 5 stars. This has now dissuaded me from purchasing the books companion volume, "The Top 100 Sci-Fi Movies", which is a real shame as I think I would enjoy that volume too.I can recommend the book for it's contents but warn against the sloppy production values which pretty much renders the book worthless and unreadable as soon as you recieve it.
