Better the second time around!
I received these in the mail yesterday and was anxious to use them as my dogs nails are quite long. My initial use of the clippers were not at all what I was expecting. Each time I cut a nail, I had to take both hands to pull the handles apart. There was no spring back open movement of the blades. Also, the blades did not seem very sharp. They were doing more crushing of the nails than cutting. I must have gotten a dud pair of nail clippers. I will ask for a replacement and see if I have any better experience.9/18/2016 It is my delight to tell you, my review of the faulty clippers resulted in contact from the company. A new set of clippers was sent and arrived within a few days. I have used them on both of my dogs, (6 lbs, and 11 lbs. miniature poodles) and they cut very cleanly. This clipper is large for my smaller dog. If you push the nail to the guard, it cuts too deeply for his size nail. A medium clipper would be a more appropriate size. Also, the guard tends to slip out of place as you cut more nails. You need to stop and tighten it with a wrench and screwdriver. That is a little annoying. I have purchased other clippers of this very same style from other companies and have had the same issue with a loose guard. At the time of this review, I have trimmed both dogs nails once.

Not what I was wanting
It was time to trim our dogs nails but couldn't find the one we have. I had to order some and decided to buy this one. It looks very nice and comes with a bag to keep them in. However, my husband was not happy with these clippers. They were not sharp enough so that it was much harder to trim their nails and on some of them it mashed and smashed them. My dogs hate that too!I picked these because of the "professional" in the title. I am still looking for the clippers we have had and used for many years. Until then, we do not have much of a choice. Our floors are all oak and when their nails start getting too long, they slide instead of walk on the floor.

We got the trimmers in and they worked like a charm
Our most recent pair of dog nail trimmers had not lived up to expectation so we decided to check out Amazon to see which ones were well reviewed. This product was both very affordable and highly rated so we felt that it would be a safe gamble. We got the trimmers in and they worked like a charm. Of course, our smaller dogs still didn't like having their nails trimmed but that wasn't expected to change due to a new pair of trimmers. They feel solidly constructed. I'm not really sure why they come with a pouch but I guess that if that matters to anyone, then it does come with one.Assuming that they stay in good shape, I feel that we will have found our brand of trimmers for life.

Pet Nail Clippers
I like these clippers because they have the wing that prevents cutting the nail too close if the pet happens to move during trimming. I purchased these for my daughter to prevent trimming into the quick

No longer work after 3 months
Stopped working after about 3 or 4 uses. Now, they stick and in order to open them, I have to manually pry it open. I wish someone could make a pair of these that lasts longer than a few months. I've gone through two in the past 9 months (different brand last time).

Nice clippers, especially for the price
Nice clippers, especially for less than $6. Tip of blades is a little bulky making it hard to get to some of the nails on my 3lb. Yorkie. No problem whatsoever though with my bigger Yorkie, handles are big and easy to grip. A little sticky out of the package but a shot of WD-40 made them smooth as silk.

these were a great deal but I've had better
For the money, these were a great deal but I've had better. I tried them on my Rottweiler's nails and they just weren't sharp. I have a pair I bought similarly and they are much sharper. The blade protector also is too loose and gets in the way. The grips are nice but when you're fighting dancing paws, I'd rather sharpness and ease then a good grip.

Don't Buy These.
Not worth getting. The guard gets in the way and the clippers are not very sharp. I prefer the Miller Forge clippers hands down. There is higher quality for the equivalent price. Look elsewhere.
